I’d like to give a big thank you to Hukas Divers and MTD for organizing an incredible diving trip in Malapascua (Logon). The energy within our diving group was strong and positive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. We shared lots of laugh, excitement and fun.
We were incredibly fortunate that day. From the moment we descended, we encountered several dolphins, unicorn fish, white tip sharks, tiger sharks, and thresher sharks. Throughout the dives and on the boat, we felt very safe and well taken care of.
The instructor from Hukas Divers was truly passionate and encouraging, always providing tips to help us become better divers. Their dedication to our improvement made the experience even more rewarding.
Thank you, Hukas Divers, for such a memorable adventure. We’re always improving with your guidance!

I acquired my OW & Advanced scuba certifications through Hukas. The course instructor (Francis) was very thorough, passionate, and detailed with a safety-first mindset. His training will ensure that you will not lack the necessary skills to make you comfortable and confident when diving. The most important lesson I learned from him though is how to have fun both above and under the water.
Ive gone on a dive trip in Malapscua Island with some of the Hukas community members including Francis and the experience was nothing but surreal and fun! The training definitely prepared me well. Highly recommend Hukas Divers for your scuba certifications and dive trips!

My friends and I passed our Open Water diving course with Hukas Divers in Cebu. We had an amazing experience with Francis, Mark and Marie Ange. We not only felt safe all along, but had so much fun! Francis is an exceptional instructor - he is patient, caring and so talented in teaching his passion for diving. I will never forget my first experience learning the basic skills of a diver and all the marine life I’ve seen in Cebu Mactan (huge turtles, lion fishes, remora fishes, starfishes and so many beautiful corals).
I would 100% recommend if you are looking for a safe and fun environment to learn diving!

Whether you're doing a discovery scuba dive, a certification course or a fun recreational dive, Francis (Hukas Divers) will take care of you. He's very thorough, thoughtful and most importantly keeps you safe. His unconventional approach makes you learn the skills while enjoying the diving and makes for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

I only have positive things to say about Hukas divers. I did my advanced open water certification, rescue diver training and recreational dives with Francis and the Hukas divers which was a brilliant experience every time. From the high standard of training to friendly socializing in between dives, Hukas divers has set the standard of what professional dive training should be. The course delivery techniques and structure are clear signs of years of experience and fine tuning to ensure that each student walks away with good experiences, as well as being a safe and competent diver. I would personally recommend Francis and Hukas divers to any friends or family looking to experience any aspect of diving.

First of all, Francis is an incredibly kind and attentive teacher. Even though i had a bit of a hard time due to anxiety, he was very patient and took things as slowly as i was comfortable with, as well as reassuring me all the way.
Secondly, Hukas Divers also has a running program which enables differently abled people to dive, which is further testament to how professional, attentive and capable they are. I warmly and strongly recommend you choose them if you want to dive, as a first timer or even if you're an experienced diver!

The entire experience was exceptional! I was referred to Francis at Hukas Divers to get PADI certified by my friend who lives in NY but also has family in Cebu. Francis was amazing! His teaching style was highly professional. I’m a slow learner but he was extremely patient and explained things very clearly. I was so impressed that after completing my first three dives and most of the required PADI skills my first day, my son joined me the next day to take his refresher course. After completing my 4th open water dive and the remainder of the the skills to pass my certification, we were having so much fun that we added two additional dives for the day, so we could just enjoy the sea below with the skills that Francis taught us. Throughout the two days, Francis added his own personal touch by taking underwater pictures and videos of my son and me 40-60 feet below, interacting with the aquatic beauty such as, schools of sardines, baby shrimp, starfish, seahorses, Lion fish, sea urchins and a variety of beautiful tropical fish. In addition, knowing that I love eating Uni, Francis bought some fresh sea urchins straight from the sea from the locals and I had an uni feast served with vinegar on banana leaves. What made this experience even more special was that Francis was a very kindhearted, thoughtful and easy going guy. It was a pleasure to spend time with him. If you happen to be in the Cebu area and you want to Scuba dive, Francis from Hukas Divers is your man!

My AOW course with Francis from HUKAS was a outstanding experience. As it always should, safety of course came first and Francis made sure that everyone in the group understood the gear, rules and safety measures perfectly. Also, he showed patience and repeated anything if required. The dive site was perfectly chosen and provided all aspects that are necessary to do the AOW. A nice addition was that there were tons of fish and other sea life around, which made the fun dives we added after the course an unforgettable experience. I can highly recommend diving with HUKAS and would always go back for another dive with them.

It was through pure Serendipity that I met Francis Abelgas.
On my flight to the Cebu, I happened sit by him on the plane. When he introduced himself and his occupation, I knew immediately that he would be a great mentor. Francis is Professional, personable and organized. For my fellow students and I, he concisely explained each step and ensured that we understood and committed to memory all that we needed to feel confident in the water. Under water, he gave us clear instruction and kept us safe while we explored the beautiful terrain and wildlife. He also made the experience fun and exciting by giving us progressive challenges as soon as we were ready and he offered continued advancement in training at the end. Ultimately, We learned Open Water, Advanced, and went on several adventure dives. We covered deep diving, underwater navigation, night diving, boat diving, fish identification, and peak performance buoyancy. Francis can also explain the local Filipino culture (if you are a traveler as I was this information is invaluable). I can't imagine a better diving experience than the one I had with Hukas Divers. Thank you so much!

I got my diving certification in 2014 with Francis and have since then dived in several other countries, but Francis and the team remain the best I ever dived with in and outside of PH.
I came back to Cebu now in 2024 to dive with Francis specifically. Lots of info and insight, I always felt safe! We did cave dives, sunrise dive and got to see corals, fish and turtles (!).
