We must have arrived at noon, since we were told the monks were busy eating lunch and we could not go inside at that time! We took some photos with the big buddha at the entrance, wishing the Monks bon appetit! Nearby was a Taoist temple and a cockfight arena, both which we enjoyed.

A bit hidden. One ride away from city proper. Plenty of wood carvings on the wall better not miss it. The Thousand Hand Buddha is so majestic. Don't forget to light an incense and make a wish. There is a small shop selling buddhist beads and bracelets and other items but quite expensive.

The Temple is a rare attraction you won't see often in other places. It is located in Cabaguio St., just ask the jeepneys or tricycle to get you there. There is on duty guard to welcome you and brief the relevance of this place. Entering the temple is the Buddha with koi fish in the pond. Inside is the large Buddha and depending on your visit you may see Buddhist (or whatever) chanting and doing their rituals. There are also place like prayer room in a counterpart of Catholic as adoration chapel where they lay and lit incense to a god I think is Shiva. There is also store for Buddhist charms and bracelets.
Very unique experience. The fee is free or you can donate a minimal amount.

Lon Wa temple is a small Buddhist temple. The entrance is free. The guard at the entrance is very knowledgeable because he had been working there for 25 years. Take the the chance to make him as your default tour guide. Lastly, dress appropriately.

We stopped quick on our way to another place and it was neat to see. The guard will allow you in the building but you have to be quiet and take your shoes off before you can enter the temple. We got a lot of video and a few pics. If you are in the area it's worth a look.

Nothing much to say about this place. It was a temple :)
When we went there a bunch of people was praying.
Since I was already in Davao I decided to visit this place.

I'm a fan of temples. I'm serious. I was glad that we were the only people touring and praying at the temple by the time we went there. The Buddha figures and other Chinese deities are gorgeous. The wooden carvings on the door and walls are intricate and beautiful.
I love every part of it. The nice kuya who happens to be a security personnel there and a tour-guide, gave us plenty of time to visit and pray at each section of the temple. You can actually take photos here more freely as compared to other temples.
It's a nice place to visit (and pray to), let the serene feel of the place calm you and keep you deep in words. I hope this would be in your list of to-go-to when in Davao.

I have now shown two separate sets of friends around this well-maintained temple tastefully built in the 1960s.
I find a warm welcome at the temple. The caretakers trust visitors to wander around the precincts of the temple in silence, to reflect and contemplate. This makes it a very genuine experience. There is no admission fee, but contributions are welcome. There is an area where Bhuddist artefacts can be bought, but there is no hard-sell at all. The staff are happy to answer questions on the temple's history, giving a very genuine glimpse into Bhuddism in this part of Mindanao. I would suggest that visitors should be willing to respect the serenity of the place with quiet, sober behaviour. It's probably not a good place to bring young children.

The temple is well maintained and gives a good glimpse of Buddhist ways of prayer and worship. The prayer rooms are accessible, thanks to the security guard who enthusiastically acts as a guide. Wood carvings on walls and posts are well preserved and show good examples of Chinese cultural heritage. Souvenir items are available in one room where monks in an adjoining area pray and meditate.
The temple is certainly worth a visit.

Before stepping into the property. Stand just outside the gate and stay long enough to catch the scent of the yellow fire tree. Its a rare and delightful breath of flowers in hot and humid Davao.
Just inside the driveway, visitors are welcomed by the sitting Buddha with a big smile. Its a very promising start to a visit. Move on after to the stairway guarded by two lions standing guard. Then enter the temple which is quiet and serene. Take a few minutes to just take it all in feel the stillness. After this temple, move to the back where the Goddess of Mercy with the thousand arms makes you feel like she is always on hand to receive petitions.
On the wall in front of this are the 8 carved panels depicting highlights in the life of Buddha.
Strictly no picture-taking in the temple to preserve the serenity of the place.

I think so. You can walk around outside, this place is a school so as far as going in the temple i don't know if there will be students in it on the weekend or not.
