Enjoyable visit. Entrance fee included a snack: chicken sandwich and tuna sandwich plus water.
Lots of colourful birds and parrots which you can feed. The finches like to perch on your head. Great photos.
Nice butterfly enclosure.
Interesting chocolate museum. I enjoyed a very good hot chocolate.

Nice day trip! Our ticket got us to enter the gardens (photo op with birds 👍🏼; koi pond)- lots of seats and playground. I saw horse and carriage rides for a fee. Also the most Napoleon Abueva sculptures I’ve seen in one room- what a treat!
Malagos Chocolate Museum is inside the grounds. Very informative. Chocolates sold here.
Ate at the restaurant. We had plated lunch which was so-so. But I ordered coffee, suman with hot chocolate and champorado which was my highlight meal.
We didn’t get to swim but pool was very inviting. They also had massages available on-site.
*we also went to Malagos farmhouse in the city- here we got to buy cheeses and tasting/pairing with wine experience available. Chocolates available here also. I just wasn’t paying attention, so I don’t know how to explain how we got there…

A chill place to visit for half or whole day since there were so many activities to do. We love the Chocolate Museum and their spa. The fee to pay already includes a meal. Quite far though from city center. So better hire a car to go here.

It has been a never forgetting stay there. It was more than a vacation day. I am really speechless about such a wonderful place near Davao City. Allow me to mention especially Ms. Princess Anne Yucot for her unique service during lunch time.

From Philippine Eagle Center, I took a pedicab towards Malagos Garden Resort (fare: ₱30). Entrance to the resort is ₱495 and you are not allowed to bring in food/fruits (you may leave them at the reception area).
The ₱495 includes a complementary snacks of tuna and chicken sandwich with banana chips. The food is really filling and their restaurant is really cozy.
It was raining hard when I get there so I had no chance to visit the whole resort. The attractions closes at 5pm so better be early when you go there so you can enjoy the attractions. My suggestion is wake up at 6am and travel towards Philippine Eagle Center. From the center, go directly to Malagos Garden Resort and stay there until 5pm.
After my visit, I headed towards the exit and took a pedicab towards Tolada in Calinan (fare is just ₱30). Then took a van (fare is approx ₱60) towards Roxas Night Market (just across Ateneo de Davao) where I had my dinner.

While the original plan was to hike trails at the foot of Mt. Apo, I was redirected to this "gem" in Malagos instead. The expansive resort is home to various flora and fauna. The resort hosts daily bird watching activities and has recorded sixty plus bird species, one of which, is the star bird Southern Silvery Kingfisher. Very friendly staff. Food was fantastic. A must try dish is the "Linotlot na Manok". I enjoyed staying in the lodge near the creek, as the flowing water, rustling leaves and bird calls are true music to the ears! Thank you Malagos staff for the memorable experience!
Tip: The resort hosts The Big Year Davao every first Saturday of the month they also cast bird shows on weekends.

Anong oras po ang start ng spa? Kasi nung last time magpapabook sana kami sabi any time naman daw available ang spa tapos pagtawag namin ngayon 12 pa daw ang start.

We booked the retreat to romance package at 8,999 PHP per night which includes an overnight stay at a honeymoon villa, 5 course dinner, buffet breakfast, and access to the activities of the resort.
PROS:
1. Hats off to ma'am Nina! She was very warm and welcoming. She made sure that we had everything that we needed and was constantly checking on us.
2. Heliconia villa was spacious, clean, and has its own jacuzzi in its balcony overlooking a small brook.
3. We were lucky that there was a bird show in tribute of Dr. Bo, which aims to educate the audience on taking care of the environment.
4. Resort is close to the Philippine eagle sanctuary (1.7 km away)
5. We enjoyed the birdfeeding activity in which you get to have close encounters with their lovely and well kept avia
6. There's a small chocolate museum in which you can make your own chocolate
CONS:
1. Resort is a bit far from the city center (20+ kms) and taxis are quite hard to come by, grab cabs are also hard to book. So it's best to charter a vehicle to get to and from the resort.
2. There are some signs of wear and tear in the resort (eg. Electric outlet popping out of the socket and faded signage and information boards)
3. Food is okay, but not outstanding. Our favorite is the bacon wrapped tenderloin steak

I went there for my birthday! While confirming my reservation they were very accommodating and made sure that we had the king-size bed since my kid would be sleeping with us. We used Viber to contact them and they are very responsive. The food is amazing and the ambiance is just relaxing. The only downside is that they don't have a lot of activities to do and more sightseeing but it's fine since I cannot do strenuous activities at the moment.
The highlight of our stay was the room and food.

I had visited Malagos Resort before but never stayed there. The staff were helpful and attentive. The family suite was beautiful with a king bed in one room, 2 twins in the other and a wonderful view of the river. You could go to sleep listening to the water. The food was pretty good, prices high but not terrible. The butterfly attraction was wonderful and full of butterflies! The playground attractions needed work some are so broken down they are a safety hazard. The petting zoo was completely closed. The bird show was great and chocolate making was fun. We had fun feeding the fish and the birds in the aviary. They had high chairs in the restaurants for my 1 year old. The biggest negative was there was a large colony of black ants in our suite. No way to get rid of them, cleaning came and kept sweeping them up and using chalk to keep them on the roof, but we had to live with them just crawling around up there the whole time.
