About
The Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) is an 8.4-hectare area located at the foothills of Mt. Apo in Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City and situated within the Malagos Watershed. The Philippine Eagle Center primarily operates as a conservation breeding facility for the critically endangered Philippine Eagle and other birds of prey. The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) is a private non-stock, non-profit organization. We at the PEF work towards giving the critically endangered Philippine Eagle a fighting chance to survive and thrive in its natural territory. Therefore, we are also committed to the preservation of the eagle’s rainforest habitat and the biodiversity it represents.

We recently went to Davao and decided to visit the eagle center. We met two awesome tour guides, Luigi and Darwin ( interns) who are both knowledgeable and funny. Although Luigi was more talkative than Darwin. Even if the tour was only less than an hour it fells like I learned a ton about the eagles and other animals at the center. It’s worth every penny. I will definitely do this again when we’re back in Davao.

I highly recommend that you visit this place in the morning of your trip to Davao. This place closes at 4 pm in the afternoon. The visit is educational.
The entrance fee is only Php150.00.
You may head to Malagos for a hearty meal after.

As for our experience we enjoyed a lot and spend our time for exploring different collection of birds and animals. The environment is very peaceful and clean. The tour guides are friendly and gave us more knowledge. Highly recommended we will visit again next time.

We went to the Philippine Eagle Foundation's centre in Davao today. It was stunning and a great way to explore the tropical local flora and fauna. We were able to see families of monkeys frolicking in their habitat, and of course, the eagles and the important breeding program.
Vendors there support their communities with many hand crafted and locally produced goods. We are very pleased with our purchases and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the centre.

I had the opportunity to travel to Davao City in the Philippines and it was an amazing experience. The city is full of life and there is so much to see and do. I would definitely recommend anyone who has the chance to visit Davao City. Here are some of the highlights from my trip:
One of the first places I visited was Mount Apo. It is the tallest mountain in the Philippines and it offers breathtaking views. I would definitely recommend hiking to the summit if you are able.
Another highlight from my trip was visiting the Philippine Eagle Center. The center is home to the world's largest eagle, the Philippine Eagle. I was able to see these majestic birds up close and learn more about them. I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wildlife that surrounded the center. I would highly recommend a visit to the Philippine Eagle Center to anyone interested in seeing these amazing creatures.
If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beach, I would recommend going to Davao Gulf known as The Samala Island. There are several resorts along the gulf that offer stunning views and plenty of activities to keep you busy. I also had the chance to go snorkeling in Davao Gulf. The water was crystal clear and there were so many colorful fish. I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone who enjoys being in the water.
Overall, I had an amazing time in Davao City and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to travel. There is so much to see and do and the people are incredibly friendly. I can't wait to go back!.

We were in the area so we decided to add this to our itinerary. The birds were very majestic, but a quick lap around the Center and you're done. Be prepared for 2 fees (I think the first is for parking, and the second is to enter the center). Great cause.

You want eagles.. plenty gorgeous Philippine eagles here where you can see them up close.. Hope the govt can add more funds to this center to improve its condition for more successful breeding and to effectively campaign for our eagles.

The crew that maintained and served at the Philippine Eagle Center is just amazing--so courteous and helpful. We were relieved to see the animals and birds well cared for. To maximize your time, bring a hat or an umbrella, a hat, wet wipes (dispose of these properly!), a fan (it can get terribly humid), and an insect repellant (because wildlife and a lush garden of trees and plants attract all kinds of insects.

We booked a 9 am Mabuhay tour (150 php for fully vaccinated guests, 300 php if not). However we weren't sure if we joined the wrong group or were we supposed to go on our own? Given that the package says Mabuhay tour we are expecting to be joined by a tour guide, maybe it should be clarified on the e-ticket.
PROS
1. Captive animals were kept in great shape
2. Very informative tour guide (in case you have one)
CONS
1. Even if you already have booked online you still have to wait for the cashier in order for you to get in the park. Unfortunately the cashier arrived at around 9:20 am (we only allotted an hour in this place since we're going to watch a bird show at Malagos by 10:30 am) making us rush through the park. Therefore it's not a good idea to book an early slot if you have a tight schedule.
2. Protocols regarding tour guides are not clear. Once the cashier checked our tickets and our names on the booking list, she told us to join the group ahead of us who is led by tour guide Ivy (so we assumed that the group was for the 9 am booking). After about 15 or 20 minutes of tailing the group we were eventually told by Ivy to go ahead. Thinking that she was telling us to go ahead in order to make room for other participants, we went ahead and waited for her a bit. When we checked on her she was still with the same group she was initially touring, so I don't know if she was exclusively hired by the group.

Ride any public transporation passing by the front of SM Davao going to Calinan Transit Terminal or Bankerohan, then from there, fare is around 40 pesos for about almost 1hr ride in L300 with Calinan signage. Philippine Eagle is quite far so tourists usually rent a private van. You can charter a cab for the day. They charge about P2,000.

There are two ways to ride from Davao City proper.
1. Ride a PUJ with route going to Bankerohan, (fare is 8 to 15 pesos) then tell the driver to drop off at the Calinan, van L300 Terminal. Pay first at the cashier that your destination is to Calinan (fare is 45 pesos) then tell the driver to drop you off at Botica Carina. From there, ride a single motorcycle (fare is 30 pesos per head) for large group, recommend to ride a PUV (25 pesos per head)
2. For Public utility Jeepney, ride a multicab with route to Roxas avenue, tell the driver to drop you off at the Ateneo school (the one with the blue window) and wait for a jeep route for Calinan. (fare is 45 pesos) then tell the driver to drop you off at Botica Carina. From there, ride a single motorcycle (fare is 30 pesos per head) for large group, recommend to ride a PUV (25 pesos per head)
