It's a fun experience! But we had allergies right afterwards because of the tuna belly we ate. I think it wasn't fresh. Really cheap food, but be prepared to smell like barbecue. Drinks are cheaper too, but loaded with much sugar. The place was carefully monitored and heavily secured.

The place became lively starting at 6pm. Lot of people queuing to get in. The security is good. The first thing when you go in, you see many food stalls with limited selection of food, mostly offering grilled food, it has limited seats, so it is advisable to go early. The next block after food stalls are for people who want to have a.massage and relax. The last block consist of ukay ukay. There were fewer selections that during the pre-pandemic time.

Due to a change of plans, my family and I unexpectedly went here on the opening night, last March 24. The line was long but was well worth the wait. I love the BBQ and their flavored buchi! I haven't encountered strawberry, matcha, chocolate or ube flavored buchi in Manila. So yummy! (We even went back by Tues to buy buchi as pasalubong, lol)

At the end of the food stalls, there are also masseuses offering services and then after were the ukays. I liked the selection of clothes available there, good material at a very affordable price.

Very memorable experience, will definitely go back here on my next trip.

Unfortunatelly there is nothing like a night market any more. As localc said - many bussinesses bancrupt during 2 years of Covid, rest closed because of bomb threat. Now on Roxas Avenue you can find a few BBQ restaurants an that is all. Not worth a visit.

The market is located close to the Marco Polo Hotel, and has a large selection of 'street foods' at reasonable prices. Fun place to try out some tasty food in the evening

if you like street food, then this is a good place to visit in davao. The only issue I had is that the tents are tied with ropes that criss cross each other and tied so low that I had to bend most of the time that I am walking thru the street and ended up getting dizzy for bending. the food selection was ok since the majority they have are local skewers of assorted meat and inerts.

...This appealing spectacle, Davao's night market, has 500 vendors, drawing a throng of thousands of local people and tourists every evening. This market, which begins by the Marco Polo Hotel, starts at 6 PM every evening.
...This great bizarre has two sections. First there are a host of mostly barbecue stands, selling meat and fish. cooked as you wait, and, second, a section of hundreds of small shops and open-air vendors, all arranged in a single row, vendors to the left and the right of the path.
...The crowd in every part shows the great appeal of this night market,

...1) The section of shops of merchandise.
...Articles of many sorts are sold by hundreds of small shops, including larger items such as shoes and sandals, bedding and clothing of all sorts, some clothes hung on long racks, and including smaller items such as combs, jewelry, perfume, and sundry other items. I bought an "I love Davao" refrigerator magnet for 35 pesos in a shop mostly selling many refrigerator magnets.
...Hopefully, it has what you want.
...Low overhead keeps prices down.
...I walked along this way of hundreds of shops, seemingly endlessly, until I came to the end because I wanted to give a truthful review of the night market for tripadvisor.
...Davao's Night Market was started by the city government in 2013 and has been getting bigger over the years.

...2) The section of mostly food (mostly barbecue) stands..
...A huge crowd, of couples, friends, and family groups, come to eat barbecue food, cooked freshly as they wait, along with other foods, including fruit, lumpia, rice of course, and other foods as well. There is also a very popular ice cream vendor, with a long line of customers.
...My wife and I walked along the rows of many stands, ranged to the left and the right of the path, as we decided what to eat from the array of meat and fish, much on skewers, offered. We ate meals of tilapia, bangus, sausage and pork that we picked from the array of foods offered, eating at the tables and chairs provided by the stands. (I liked the skewered pork best.) To be honest, my wife found the tilapia at one stand too undercooked to her taste. (Of course, you could ask them to cook it some more) The especially great crowd at these barbecue stands show the great general satisfaction of the people who ate there.

I went here 4 nights or so. I developed favorite spots and vendors. There are many vendors offering the same things. So, go pick out your favorite. No alcohol available and I didn't see any. At the very end are very nice and inexpensive massages. Just across the street from the Marco Polo, Do it.

In 2016, during my first business travel in Davao City - home of our President Rodrigo Duterte, my colleagues recommended Roxas Avenue Night Market - a "must" place to visit for first-time visitors to enjoy the flavors of Davao City. We visited that place with my friends on September 1, 2016, and left for Cebu City on the morning of September 2. On September 3, I received an early call from my friend that on the night of September 2, a bomb exploded on that street killing a couple of innocent civilians. I was really grateful to have escaped that fateful incident but sad at the same time why someone wants to destroy a very beautiful place.
My second business trip was on May 24 - 25, 2017. This date is also memorable because when I left Davao City on the morning of May 25, in the evening, President Duterte declared martial law on the island of Mindanao.
Well, setting aside those events that nearly cost my "LIFE", the following are the reasons why Roxas avenue is a place to visit:
1. Cheap food stalls serving grilled food most especially the pride of Davao City - TUNA.
2. Fruits & shakes
3. Cheap dry goods & second-hand items
4. Davao Ice cream - I tried this time the charcoal flavor - yes you read it- CHARCOAL!
5. Whole-body massage
And above all, the friendly smile of the locals that will surely entice you the enjoy the night filled with youthful vibes.
