This was the last stop for our 2017 Holy Week pilgrimage. It is a very steep climb for our AUV. One-way up and one-way down. Upon arriving, there is little space for parking. There is nothing much to see except the huge statue and 4 more statues at the corners. The place is not well-maintained. However, the view of La Union is great.

For me this was a long held ambition to visit. Although busy the organisation at the statute is spot on. Your visit is timed to 40 minutes. That is more than enough and you dont feel preasured to leave. An amazing place.

We went up on a Sunday late morning. The lines were long, but not outrageous. The statue itself is a must see. I felt like we had to see it since we were in Rio and I'm glad we did. The line to get up however, was a different story. When you self buy the tickets it gives you a time and a "loading group" as far as I can tell this means nothing. We waited over an hour for our time and then stood in line, missed our time and group and they let anyone with any time in. It was a highly confusing system. Once on the bus it was slick. The statue is obviously over crowded but that was to be expected. It is a must see because of its fame, and status as a world heritage site, but know that the line system is meaningless and you'll be very confused.

Pag dating mo sa kalye going to the statue, sobrang kitid. One car lang, grabe ang tarik. Pag dating sa top 2 car lang puede mag Park. Good thing kami lang nandun. The view was nice though. Pero hindi sulit.

After reading lots of reviews, we suspected it would be dangerous to go to statue. We took a extra precautions to reduce our dangers. We took an uber to the top which can happen before 8 AM. The bus system from tourist center has different times which can lead to busier times. The statue has an amazing view of the city and you need to come earlier to get a better view with the statue in the back.
There is an elevator and escalator to take you to the top if you have mobility if issues.

When you visit Rio de Janeiro you must visit the Christ the Redeemer statue. The ride up the mountain, the views, even the climb up the stairs to the statue is an event. Going with a tour group simplifies the process.

Not a must to see but worth seeing if you have time. Need waze to find since seldom you see directional signs going there. Not really known by all locals. Steep and narrow road before reaching the top so be careful

There’s no reason to use a tour. Everything you need to know about when, who and how long is up there to see.
You need to beat the rush so get there at 9am.
Beautiful views but you don’t need 45 mins to appreciate them.
