It's a Taoist temple without an entrance fee but when we arrived it's closed already though we still took a lot of photos outside the temple. It is similar to the Chinese temple in Baguio.

The best part that i have enjoyed is the view and you must see it during sunset. A must-see with family and friends.

We were amazed on the culture, beliefs, and statues of dragons and others. The staff who assisted us is very kind. She even showed us how we can see all, even on the slightest details in the temple. Shout out to you, ate Staff. Thank you!

Somewhere you can read it as Macho( strong, muscled man). If you've been in other Taoist temple, they are almost similar to one another. Just an addition to my experienced but still enjoyed the place.

Visited the place with some friends. You cannot find any other place that is as serene as this one. What's also great is that it is open to the public; Taoists and non-Taoists alike. This should be on your list of places to visit when you go to La Union.

The temple allows guest to walk around and marvel in the beautiful structures. The place is very quiet and every inch of the furnishings, statues and arks are wonderfully made. When inside always be respectful of the place, avoid being noisy and you can’t go inside the temple.

The Chinese Temples always seem to be a place to relax and have some quiet time no matter what your religion. The grounds are beautiful. It can be difficult to get to since it is on a main highway, but with patience, you can get there.

After visiting our 1st destination Agoo Church we went directly to Macho Temple w/c is just located in the heart of San Fernando City. The silence is serene and the view emphasizes the height of the structure with some city background when you take a photo. They allow you to have a picture inside the temple. You can also pray to Ma-cho even if your not a Buddhist.

Good place to have some nice pictures! I would recommend to try it in the afternoon though because when we were there it was 12 nn and it was very hot!
But we still enjoyed the place and had great shots! No entrance fee.

We visited the temple last Feb 16 and the place is really solemn. The area is really big to take a lot of photos with.

The grape farms are in Bauang while Ma-cho temple is in the town of San Fernando which is about 30-45 minutes away. I’m really not sure but maybe there are PUVs plying this route.
Is the temple open for tour/visit on weekends or holidays?

Hi. How do we get to Ma-Cho temple if we are from Baguio City? And is it open everyday or just on weekdays? And are there hotels near the temple for overnight stay?

if you are from the City of Pines, just take those buses going to Ilocos like Partas Bus. There is also a bus terminal (non-a/c ones) at Burnham area, adjacent to the gasoline station that San Fernando City is the main dentation.
Yes, they are open everyday.
Yes, there are hotels nearby where you can check in for an overnight stay 😀
