This is the place to go to a mass if you are in San Fernando. The church is big enough to house a large number of guests. It is right in front of the plaza and there are parking spaces around it.
They have masses here in English, Filipino and Ilocano, so check in advance before going. =)
The church itself is beautiful, if somewhat simple. For me, it shows both the excellent workmanship and artistry of the Ilocanos, but never forgetting the frugality that defines their character. Practical, Utilitarian and Catholic - that is how I would describe this Cathedral.
On the front - right side of the Cathedral are stalls selling food, slippers and bags. also surrounding the cathedral are numerous food establishments. So if you are a traveler, look for the Cathedral and you will find almost everything you need around it. 2 blocks away is Savemore Supermarket. Left side has Mercury Drug. One block away is the town market. And transportation is so convenient from this place. From buses to tricycles. It is a very easy place to find.

Next stop was Cathedral of St. William the Hermit in San Fernando La Union. And we actually stayed for the 5pm English Mass.
It is one of those old churches which underwent a repainting job. Nevertheless, it was well-maintained and you can definitely feel the ancestral church ambience. I was very happy and really got to have a good quality quiet time in this cathedral.

It was nice that they have a scheduled Mass in English for locals and tourists alike. The church itself was old with a touch of modern technology for participation.

This church is located in the center of town. It is amazingly maintained and the celebration of mass was very solemn. If you are the type of person who visits churches when you travel around the Philippines, make sure to plan a stop here.

This Catholic Cathedral is situated in the center of San Fernando City, La Union's capital. Right outside is the town plaza and City hall. Inside this relatively old church, one can find peace while meditating. Well worth a visit

Everytime I come for a vacation, I never missed visiting this church. It's taking me back to my younger years, reminiscing my school days beside this church. It has a nice facade and interior. You would love the altar.

When we travel around we always go to the churches, and visit, love to see the old structures. and if you get on the proper timing you can even go to the mass. To use it was nice place open window, for air not very hot inside, quite. not many peoples outside selling item bugging you to by them. Its worth the trip if your in the area.

In greeting the new year, One must pay homage to the Lord and thank him for the year that was and for the succeeding years to come. This is a very important historical landmark since this was one of the few structures made in the 18th century and is still up and restored. Hearing mass for the Roman Catholics can either be heard in English or in their local dialect Ilocano. The downside of visiting this place is the parking as well as the audio outside of the church. People tend not to participate in the church activity and do other things aside from praying.
