The first statue here depicted Aquino walking down a stairway staring on the ground. So it was replaced by this one looking proud and facing forward, which is appropriate The monument reminds every Filipino that each is worth dying for, His death was the trigger for a revolution that toppled a dictator. But this is only remembered every August 21, his death anniversary. .To be here you have to park somewhere and walk from the Ayala triangle to the place. You may get a glimpse of this structure after the light changes to red since you could not stop on the street to view this.

A reminder of the start of Edsa Revolution, a bloodless revolt that marked the end of the Marcos dictatorship.

The Ninoy Aquino Monument is a bronze statue depicting the moment of his assassination, as he was escorted off the plane by two military soldiers upon his arrival from exile. The statue somewhat unfortunately is situated on a tiny "traffic island" at the major intersection of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati, so it is a bit of a challenge to get to the statue itself and read the plaque. But it is interesting and worth making the effort to learn a bit more about this important Filipino hero.
