This was seriously the worst experience of my whole life! We started the hike in the night with the idea of seeing the “sunrise” on the top. However, the only thing i captured was the sky turning from darkness into dark gray rainy clouds. The weather made it impossible to see anything on the top as it was raining continuously for hours. Besides that, the tracks were complete mud. A lot of people slipped and you had to walk through the mud until your knees for hours. The very strong winds didn’t help as well… Would not recommend it to anyone. Hope other people have more luck with the weather but at this stage it was completely unbearable. Definitely do not recommend this in any form

Definitely the most insane sea of clouds I've ever seen in my life. I have been to countless mountains both in the Philippines and abroad and by far, Mt. Pulag is a standout experience. Best months to visit is either April or May.

Climbing Mount Pulag can now be easier as you have an option to stay in a homestay before climbing. We hiked on a weekday so there were lesser people on the trail. We were lucky enough to witness the rare sea of clouds at the summit! It was a sweet second time climbing the “playground of the gods.”

i have one of the worst experience. i paid the registration in full amount thru bpi direct deposit; that is 3600 for me and for my gf. the climb was supposed to be my gift for my gf. i called the company after not receiving the confirmation. they responded and told me excuses until i was fed up and they promised me that my regstration would be validated. so i was calmed and told them that i wud visit them prior the climb in 10 ferguson rd baguio city, that was the adress in their site and they said ok.
i went to baguio and started contacting them but they are out of reach. i started doubting already until i learned that they are already gone for almost a year in their specified adress. i was already informed about the bad reputation of the group that they did not even pay their rented room according to the land lady. until i read some reviews and found this page. this was the time i realized i was probably scammed.
no one from pagnat saka showed on the ETD in the agreed place. i waited there for two hours and no one showed up from pagnat saka. i paid just to wait in vain.
pls beware of this group. the name of the leader is Ruben Estrella Kessel. just a message to you mr. kessel, god sees everything, wait for your due.

Kept close to the hearts of many mountain enthusiasts is Mouth Pulag. Visiting in the day will award you with the “sea of clouds”, a phenomenal spectacle of the heavens and true Insta material. Take the trip at dawn for a breath-taking view of the Milky Way, an other-worldly experience where pictures cannot do it justice.

MT. Pulag is the third highest peak in the Philippines located in Benguet, Mountain Province. Unlike other trekkers, I decided to go ‘solo’ so it’s just me and my trekking guide Daniel Bugnay a licensed freelance guide who lives a few meters away from the Ranger Station. During the planning stage which was through text messages as I am about 1000KM away down south, he would reply though not always promptly because of bad telco signal.
He’s been a very helpful guide. He even arranged for me a decent and strategically located homestay because the weather was unpredictable and it might be difficult for me, a fifty year old, in a small tent at a makeshift camping site near the base (Pitching tents at the campsite near Camp 2 is prohibited on weekends but is allowed on weekdays). He’s experienced and very professional who had a sense of ‘perfect timing’. He would time each rest in each campsite so that we would make it to the summit by sunrise and see what I came for ~ sunrise at the summit and the sea of clouds! When all these unfolded before me, there’s not much to say except ‘Wow!’ ‘Just Wow’. And ‘Thank you God’.

I love Mt. Pulag.
I will definitely return, but not with Pagnat Saka anymore.
They took our money and sent us to the cold mountain without food.
We took the all-meals package so we we were lucky enough to bring our own tent, sleeping bags, earthpads and lights. But for those who availed the all-in-package, sad to say they took refuge from another camper's tent. So I don't think Mr Placido took Pagnat Saka's tent because they provided them nothing! yet these campers paid for the all-in package 3800.00 each
For those who are in doubt if they really abandoned our group last April 15-16, 2015 tour, ask the DENR for we filed a complaint after we survived the trip.
Check the Bokod Municipal Police Station records blotter entry # 01143 dated April 16th, 2015. They have a signed legal document from all of us victims of that said tour.
If Pagnat Saka keeps on posting on their FB account, here on tripadvisor or anywhere that they were victim of a scam..i dont know how in the world could they become a victim after collecting money from each of the campers. You couldn't be allowed to board the jeepney from Baguio to Ranger's Station of you don't pay for the tour yet.

This is my first legit mountain hike and it was a magnificent journey. My cousins and I decide to start the hike via Akiki Trail last February 28, 2015 and ended March 2, 2015. We registered at the jump off and had our Tour Guide. My experience at Mt. Pulag was overall exhilarating. It was a wonderful time for us to bond since we ( cousins and I ) doesn't see each other often.
If you live in a city full of pollution and wanted to slow down, this place is the place for you to achieve peace and fresh air. But please don't forget to bring (and use) your sunblock and a scarf to cover and protect your face from windburn and sunburn. Believe me! We had ours but due to being over excited, we forgot to put some sunblock on the second day and we were all roasted. Please don't follow us, Haha!
The views and the hike was breathtaking, but knowing the destination you'll be, it's totally worth it! :)

I didn't plan for this trip but few days before my leave, my brother asked me if I wanted to join their hiking group to climb Mt. Pulag. I just thought it was good for a change so I said to myself...Go!
My brother arranged the jeepney pick-up from Baguio bus terminal to the rangers camp through coordination with the DENR to make sure that the trip was safe.
The jeepney driver even offered us to take few side trip like stopping by at the Ambuklao Dam before reaching the DENR registration office. The serene view of the lake at the Dam was just amazing.
We had lunch at one of the small carinderias around the rangers camp area. We requested them to cook a particular menu out of the chicken they offered. Sodas and water were already cold, ice was not necessary. If coffee is needed, P5.00 will do. They have a coffee dispensing machine.
We also arranged with them our lunch for the next day which includes a very hot soup.
The views along the trail were really AWESOME from the start of the hike where you can see the local village with their plantations, passing all the different phases and faces of the mountain up to the last and most stunning view from the summit.
We reached the campsite around 5pm where we build our tents and sleep early before the curfew :) at 9:00PM.
The night seemed so endless...I keep on waking up because of the cold 5 degree Celsius temperature.
We woke up at 3AM to prepare for the climb and witness the sunrise at the summit.
The stars are still up for the viewing ...so heavenly!
When we reached the summit...everyone's excited to take the photos at all angle!
The view was so breathtaking. I am sandwiched by the clouds above and below my level.
The feeling that you're on top of the world, that you can touch the heaven when you stretched your hand up and the self-satisfaction that you've reached the summit of the tallest mountain in Luzon (3rd tallest mountain in the Philippines) is priceless.
Not a single regret I made on deciding to join this trip.
It's truly an unforgettable experience for me.
Tip: It's nice to take photos and enjoy the summit when there's few of you at the top so better go there during weekdays.

Where is Mt. Pulag National Park located?

Do I need a medical certification? Is it mandatory to have a guide? Anything else to make it more complicated?

Yes of course! At the medical center. Can get it. Or searching near hospital on your site! Thanks!

Anybody here who can help me how i can get to Mt Pulag? Possibly connect me to an agency or freelancer. Thank you!

When we went to Pulag, we just rode a jeepney located beside the downtown market. The jeepney station is easy to locate, just ask from any locals.

Hello,
Yong medical certificate mayron band specific form na gagamitin? Kung mayron saan makaka kuha?
Thank you!

Hi. May hospital nmn na pwdng daanan before you get to the DENR office. Nakalimutan ko yung name. Most of the group tours, dun nila dinadala yung guests nila if wala pang med cert. But if u want to have it ahead of time, any format lang nmn basta sinabi mo lang sa doctor na aakyat ka ng Pulag. Si doc na bahala for the rest. :) Good luck sa akyat! 😊

Is there a certain place where I can get my medical certificate? Can I see any doctor in Baguio City? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
Written April 19, 2019
You can get your medical clearance from any licensed physician.

I'm from overseas and looking for a doctor in Manila who can issue medical clerance for Mt.Pulag hiking. Do you have any recommend?
Written April 8, 2019
Thank you for your comment, stella m.
The hike organizer did not recommend getting a Medical Certificate at the nearest clinic in DENR due to the long queue of people and it would consume a lot of time that might affect their itinerary.

Reachable ba ang mt. pulag by motorcycle? And may parking area kaya near it na pwede iwanan? Planning to do a solo hike on 4/30/2019. Any idea kung may pwede pag stayan sa lugar and how much? salamat ng madami.

yes but only at the base of the mountain at Kabayan, Benguet. there are police outposts and N.G.O./SPECIAL GROUP in the town area where you may be able to leave your bike but still at your own risk.
from there go on foot on an uphill climb.
check out google map key in from Baguio city to mount pulag on the destination option of google map and then browse street view image option is clicked at the bottom corner of the page. further check out this articles on : Hiking Mt. Pulag (via Ambangeg Trail) Without a Tour Guide – A 3D2N Itinerary. copy this title and search on the internet. it provides some of the details you need.
