Not being the kind of tourist who likes to touch fauna, I was most irritated that the chief attraction here is to have butterflies placed on you for photographs. The caretaker did not share very much about butterflies or conservation efforts, if any are being made that is.

The butterfly garden is a pretty small place - but the staff here is really nice and sweet. They "planted" butterflies on all of us and we took cheesy photos! Later we just ambled around. 2 of our group were Biology teachers so they enjoyed seeing it all even more - since the staff then showed us cocoons where the butterflies were waiting to come out.

The staff is well informed. I just wish they had more information boards and that it was larger.

As many others have stated, the butterfly enclosure is very small, if you went in and walked non-stop you would circle it and be back at the entrance in about 15 seconds. Its a fenced area about 25’x25’. Though there was quite a lot of butterflies when i was there and of course being so small they are literally everywhere. But the whole camp area has many areas to look around and they have other things like zip lining and more so its not a total waste of time, and it is nice and cool and a good canopy of trees make it an ideal place to let kids run around and or bring a picnic lunch.

My friend and I were skeptical at first to visit the butterfly farm because we might not get our P40 worth since we were traveling on budget. But upon meeting the butterfly caretaker whom we missed to ask for his name, the first 10 minutes was already entertaining and educational. He explained to us the lifespan of a butterfly and why it is fond of warm weather than cold places like Baguio. He took photos of us with the butterflies and we were very glad that we tried visiting the place. We ended up tipping him afterwards.

This is one place to be visited when in Baguio.

The location itself is spectacular,, the entrance specially the bridge part.. but.. it's disappointing.
There were a lot of butterflies hanging on the withering plants and flowers, most of them are dead.
I am not sure why, but the caretaker is hunting down butterflies so he could get some live ones to stick somewhere in your hand, face, head, etc. It's terrible and pretty cruel too. They should just leave them be. Maybe that's the reason why there are no more butterflies in this place.

A bit disappointed to see only a few butterflies. It's a butterfly garden but didn't actually look like it. It's a small place too. I guess it's not worth the time and effort. Sorry.

its not pricey but i expected to see different kinds of butterflies and take pictures of butterflies landing on our heads as they did in 2008. But this time, there were no butterflies. We were told they were sleeping as the weather was cold. so we just had a mini lecture about butterflies. Maybe they should close the farm when there are no butterflies. or perhaps have an alternate attraction such as caterpillars or something during non-butterfly season.

when we visited the facility, most of the poor butterflies have broken wings. Perhaps from too much taking of pictures. the "kuya" there will be happily and carefully catch a butterfly or two for that cute wacky photo ops with those lovely winged creatures.

Area was accessible but very few species of butterflies were seen at the time we visited. Quite disappointed.

the last time i was here, that was years ago, there were lots of butterfly species. this time, i guess there were only 2 kinds of species. the new location is smaller, unlike before. the person in charge was helpful enough to encourage my children to appreciate and explain what butterflies are all about.it was fun for the kids!
