Some stores would tell us that their prices are cheaper than the Baguio Market but I found out that it is not that much difference as they say...

Hired a taxi, word of advice is to keep the taxi waiting for you, it would be difficult to get an empty taxi later when your ready to go home and having one wait is still cheap. Wood carving shops offer some fantastic wares, got some real bargains

I love decoupage and wood is one of the best materials for this project. I usually go to this place to buy small bowls and plates, miniature animals like dolphins, lovebirds and others. They can even custom make upon request.

Prices are affordable. I buy my pieces for about 10-15 pesos a piece, sometimes lower for volume orders.

I also recommend this place to couples looking for affordable wedding favors/giveaways. Brides who love DIY can buy items that are unpolished so they can paint or stain to match their wedding theme.

Out trip to this place was meant to be a side trip to Bencab Museum, but it turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Baguio. There are a number of stores in the area and they sell all kinds of wood carvings, wooden wares and furnitures of all kinds. The store accept made to order stuff, which is cool. To those who are wood enthusiasts, this is the place to be.

Upside
1. Road is lined with various (a lot!!!) shops selling wood-carved products. From home accessories, kitchen bowls/ chopping boards to ornate decorative pieces, furniture too
2. Prices are negotiable. Bought a hand made wooden tray for only P200 (USD 5) which now houses all my makeup (LoL)
3. Very close to the Ben Cab Art Museum. You can walk it or take taxi / car/ tricycle
4. Vendors are friendly, not doing any hard selling; speaks english

Downside
1. Uphill. Might be tricky to walk for some people
2. If buying furniture or heavy wooden pieces, Buyer needs to conduct private shipping/ delivery arrangements (i.e. hire your own truck; bring your own pick up van)

I visit the place in Asin road, a little steep and the road is small and right now there is an on going construction which causes the traffic build up. But other than that, we reached the place in the lower part of Asin road, where lots of wood- carving stores are located. Its all worth it! I bought a 36" buddah made of acacia tree for only 3k. In Manila its sold at 6k.
