Arrived at 9:40AM to a very long line. There were even women who acted as if we were with them (resellers I think).
Baguio may be my hometown but I live in MNL. That is why I transferred to the tourist line. The line gets longer, NOT SHORTER, by the minute because of some local resellers posing as tourists cutting the line to join their companions. There are also some drama going on in the counter since the cashier could recognize them and they keep insisting that they're tourists.
Also, although GS has a parking area, they won't let people park inside.
Here are my comments and suggestions:
1. Accept pre-orders for pick-up to avoid wasting people's time and so people are updated on the maximum number of products they could purchase.
2. Locals should be allowed to buy but with a limit as well for personal consumption.
3. You must have an arrangement with resellers so they know what to expect and for some not to bring their toxicity that could affect people's mood. (Heard some badmouthing tourists.)
4. SRP for resellers. Tourist sometimes would rather buy outside (market, etc.) to save time but resellers take advantage of this and doesn't give fair pricing anymore.
5. If you already noticed that there is a large volume of customers, open another counter. The line is already long and you still have one counter open.
6. Time is valuable. Respect your customer's time as well.

I recommend going really early to avoid the long lines. Its probably not worth it if you're really short on time. You'll be able to purchase their products in a lot of other areas that resell them (but of course a bit more Php) like the bus terminals and main tourist attractions.

There’s a LOT of confusion and mystery here just to buy their famous Ube Jam.
They have become a victim of their own success perhaps. We lined up 7:30am and was able to be inside and buy stuff around 10:30am.
And we were thinking if it was all worth it? This is a time during the pandemic and Good Shepherd is out of touch with reality.
The attitude it seems is: take it or leave it. Not really a pleasant customer experience to be honest.
There are a TON of improvements this establishment can do to make things better. Will they even listen?

Good Shepherd is a religious convent in Baguio and they’re well known for great pasalubongs, goodies, or sweet treats like Ube jam, Peanut Brittle, Lengua De Gato, and Strawberry Jam. People normally go here to buy in wholesale so you better be early to avoid the long queue.
Tip: There are stores outside Good Shepherd that sells fresh strawberries and other goodies, you might want to check them out too!

The place is famous for their concessions selling sweets and local pastries. There's free parking but the place can get packed. There's an overlook where you can see the side of the mountains but over the years, it has been overtaken by housing.

We bought the famous Ube jam. We bought three but only 1 made it in our hotel. We ate the other two along the way while touring Baguio. Delicious.
The restrooms are clean. There is also a cafeteria where you can rest and eat. The whole place is Instagrammable.

Hands up when it comes to their goods but the queue was just so terrible. You have to wait for almost an hour only to find out you can only get max of 2 jams per head. Will still come back for sure anyway.

We went there during the morning and people are already falling in line. We purchased different products. Most of them are sweets like jams, coffee, natural products. Though the queue was long.

Why the ube jam bottle not sealed?
Kate L

Jams in Good Shepherd are always freshly cooked like, literally from the vat to the counter hehehe! and their shelf life is very short, like if you buy it today, it has to be consumed in the next two day max and if you buy it warm you have to keep the lid partially open (if you’re traveling with your own car) to avoid spoilage.
Is it okay for the ube jam not to be refrigerated if its not opened yet? Since the label states that "at all times" ...is it okay to not keep it refrigerated for like 2 days or so? thanks

Hi Alexa.
My answer is purely going to be based on my experience-better so it is still better to ask the people in the convent. And my short answer is no- do not risk having it stored without refrigeration. They cook the jam everyday and in case you buy one and it is still warm , it is recommended to actually leave the bottle slightly open and wait for it to cool down before you close it. The Good Shepherd ube jam I think does not have any preservatives so it will not really keep long without refrigeration. We brought ours at the start of our 2-day trip so we kept the bottles inside the ref of the apartment.

Hello there, the price of the ube jam is a bit fair but they raised the price last December. From 100+ before to 200+ - 300+ still I think you can afford it. :)
Can I also pray here, or is it only open to public for food shopping?
