Adjacent to Session Road in Baguio, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Atonement is greatly recommended for early morning mass. Though the church fills up quickly, there is a open-air tent complete with outdoor audio to accommodate any overflow. Architechturally, the two spires and use of colour result in an awe inspiring aesthetic that really make this church stand out during the day and evening. Inside however, the accoustics in the church seem to transport you to a sublime realm as you listen intently to the well hoaned choir. Attending mass here is a wonderful way to start your day. All are welcome.

As a catholic we also make time to visit a church for our prayers wherever we travel around the world. This is one of those amazing and beautiful cathedral we’ve been. It’s where you can cleanse your mind, body and soul. Parking is not free and you’ll be charged 10 pesos for the first hour and a 100 pesos penalty if you over stayed.
The only worse thing is the public toilet when they charge 5 pesos per use and the toilet is so gross, dark and dirty! I wonder if the church administration tolerates this kind of condition and I’m sure it will be a worse experience for foreign tourists.

This very impressive Catholic cathedral is accessed by very steep 104 steps from Session Road or if not so steep from the road around the corner and go to Happy Glen Loop Street. Its pink exterior, twin spires and stain glass windows make it a popular tourist attraction in Baguio. It was an evacuation centre during World War 11. Construction began in 1920 and the building was completed in 1936. In its large courtyard is a viewing deck that looks down onto Session Road.

Parking - 10 for 1 hr. 100 for 2 hrs. 500 PER SUCCEEDING HOUR. 1500 for cars leaving after 8pm. (we failed to see this advisory to be honest but still find it overpriced)

They have a Figaro onsite so we decided to have dinner right after the 7pm mass. The guard was charging us 1500 as their gate closes at 8pm. They should allow tickets to be validated if you ate dinner there anyway, as it is in the same vicinity.

Ended up paying 500 to the personnel who did not issue a receipt and obviously just pocketed the money.

this is another non-negotiable tourist spot that we need to visit every time we are in baguio. a melting pot for catholics from all walks of life. it can be accessed from the session road by climbing the 100-step steep staircase. if you're not up to it, you can simply walk your way up from the post office side.

the Church has survived the japanese bombings during WW II and even the strong earthquake in 1990, proving its resilience from disasters.

the hill where it currently stands is named Kampo by the ibaloi people, the indigenous tribe that originates from the highlands of the cordillera region. this is the biggest Church of worship in baguio for Catholics.

Be aware that there would be beggars on the way up here if you walk from session Road. Not a good or bad thing- it’s part of the spiritual journey to share your blessings if you are the type.

Parking available for a fee. But limited slots so I took a grab taxi. Lots of food outlets and toilet was available (wet floors) for P5-10 donation.

Candle lighting is outside on the side.

A good starting point to roam in the City of Pines. First travel to Baguio since 2014 this church did not change so much only that for me it is getting tinier the last time I saw it. Still an icon cathedral in the city with access via Porta Vaga or the stairs from Session Road. Make sure to pay a visit whenever you are in Baguio.

Having survived a Japanese bombing during World War II and the infamous 1990 Luzon earthquake, the Cathedral still stands proudly overlooking Baguio's downtown district. If you're walking along Session Road or coming to/from SM, it's impossible to miss. Facing the cathedral, head towards your left to get to the prayer area where you may opt to light a candle and say a short prayer. If you want to offer a mass intention, head towards the rear of the cathedral where you'll find the parish office. They'll be charging a small fee.

If you find yourself hungry or thirsty, there are several cafes and tea shops located very near the Cathedral; a local mall's entrance (Porta Vaga) is also nearby.

A very important tip: don't bring a car and hope to get a parking space on Sundays. Also, only mass goers are allowed to park.

You gotta take 104 steps before you can reach the church so get your knees ready. Around the church, there are different stalls wherein you can buy souvenirs. Expect a lot of crowd here as a lot of tourists and locals visit this church.

The Cathedral is one of the oldest structures of Baguio. They were able to maintain it's beautiful construction.
