Very accessible via taxi, the pasalubongs are much cheaper if you know how to haggle and buy in bulk. The vegetables are cheap as well. The only downside was lining up for the taxi going back to the hotel. It was so long and it took us more than 30 minutes to wait for a taxi.

One of the attraction of Baguio Public Market is Garcia's coffee shop that sells many varieties of Philippines coffee with multiple flavors. The prices are attractive, but because they ground coffee on order while you wait there is sometimes a long wait to get your order filled. It does not change the fact that it is one of the best if not the best place to buy freshly grounded coffee in Baguio at reasonable price.

Took some foreign friends here and they enjoyed it. It's been years since I was here. It looks waaay better now. People are really friendly. They were giving honest regular prices to the foreigners (unlike other tourist places I've been in around the world where they rob the foreigners!) I accidentally dropped some money when I paid for something I bought. A stranger eventually found me and handed me the money I dropped.

Vendors were really nice with giving discounts. Don't be shy in asking.

Best place to buy coffee. They buy coffee from farmers (cooperative) so it's as fair trade and local as you can get (unless you buy straight from farmers). I bought some ground coffee beans in a small vaccum foil packaging so I can bring it back to my teachers in America.

If you're looking for quality hand-woven Sagada bags, here's where you can find them. Just ask around and they'll point you to upstairs stalls where you can buy them. They're a bit pricey but the quality is definitely worth it!

If you want pasalubongs, you can get them from here too. No need to go to the convent to buy their special ube jam.

we came here to buy fresh vegetables from the rear portion of the market. it's cheaper and less crowded. the strawberries were quite pricier than when directly bought from
la trinidad. i bought ube jam from tantamco's.

although jam-packed with tourists, this market is maintained for its cleanliness and orderliness. if you have haggling skills, you can definitely hone it here.

be sure to get something from baguio for your loved ones waiting at home. there are
a lot of items to choose from.

Pros: I enjoy coming to this market. It’s very colourful. My loot consisted of coffee, Fruits, flowers, brooms (from Mountain province) that last for years and all kinds of things.

Cons: Hard to get a cab here. Hard to park. Buyer’s beware- I’m not good at haggling. Nor am I sure if the fruits are as good as they look.

We won't go back here again. It's not like the way it was when the air was fresh and clean and you can smell the pine trees. It even looks like Metro Manila. They ruined the nature here.

Baguio market has a bit of everything. From the turisty Ifugao carvings and woven cloth, silver jewelery and working taylors section, to the "wet" market where locals get meat and fish for the family dinner. Its got a very good vegetable section, with produce from all the mountain provinces. Local honey is a must try! The market is mostly covered, and can be very crowded. It's got a reputation of housing a lot of pickpockets..... However being white and having visited Baguio market a lot in the last 25 years I have never been "picket". It is possible to change your cash here to Peso, but a safer option is doing that in Baguio SM which takes 15 minuttes, walking up Session Road. Hagling is expectet, exept when buying food. The market is probably the byggest in Northern Luzon and well worth a visit!

Be sure to take advantage of buying their vegetables, especially brocolli, lettuce, and giant carrots.

Try to also buy wild honey and rice.

If you want to buy Pasalubong items this place offers great bargains. You will surely enjoy checking the stalls that sells food products to clothing items and add to that wood carvings.

I've visited dozens of markets in SE and South Asia. The Baguio City Market stands out and I'm giving it 5 "bubbles" not because it's the best thing to do in Baguio, but because it's such a superior market compared with others.

For starters, it's clean. So many markets are filthy, covered in packaging and organic waste.

Second, the vendors don't hassle you at all. You can wander in a no-stress environment without pushy sales people in your face.

Third, the main concourse is spacious. You're not shuffling in a crowd, barely able to see anything (hello, Chiang Mai Night Market).

Fourth, the Maharlika Building, attached to the market, is a warren of interesting stuff, particularly handicrafts from Northern Luzon. Look for the wonderful (if somewhat costly) Sagada weaving.

Given my experience in Asian markets in many countries, I had low expectations for Baguio City Market. Imagine my surprise to find such a pleasant, well managed market. Highly recommended, even if you don't buy a thing.
