My partner and I undertook a 5-day trip aboard a small and exclusive sailing boat and it was truly an unforgettable journey. The San Blas by boat team helped us in an incredibly organized way with the sailboat rental, taking care of all the travel arrangements from Panama City to San Blas and back. The sailboat provided us with a very comfortable and peaceful environment for our vacation. Highly recommended, reliable and professional. We hope to return soon.

The communication was exceptional, attending completely to all our requests for information. The 5-night catamaran cruise went smoothly, meeting all expectations. The private flight from Panama City to the islands was an amazing experience. The catamaran crew was outstanding in their charm and dedication, making sure to meet our every need and ensuring that we enjoyed the trip to the fullest. The quality of the food was remarkable, with a wide variety of fresh fish. The islands, with their crystal clear waters, provided a magnificent setting for snorkeling and kayaking, contributing to making the experience an unforgettable memory.

Our experience, despite it being the winter season, was amazing. The weather was pleasant, with clear skies most of the time. San Blas remains a paradise destination, perfect for those looking to relax and connect with nature in a peaceful environment. The crew was very professional and attentive, adjusting every detail of the route to ensure we enjoyed it to the fullest. They took us to pristine beaches and offered snorkeling in coral reefs full of marine life. Sailing between the islands, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and stunning landscapes, was a magical adventure. The sailboat was comfortable, with cozy cabins, and the onboard menu was spectacular, featuring fresh, local dishes.

My experience on this San Blas catamaran charter was absolutely fantastic. The private flight set the tone, and from arrival, the captain and crew made us feel completely at home. The catamaran was spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped. San Blas itself is like paradise—calm waters, beautiful islands, and perfect weather. Even brief rain showers didn’t stop us from exploring reefs and islands by dinghy. The food on board was a highlight, especially the fresh lobster and impressive wine selection. Sleeping was comfortable with the A/C, and with so few boats around, it truly felt like our own slice of the Caribbean. Highly recommend this unforgettable experience.

The boat was spacious and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing while exploring paradise. The crew is exceptional: always attentive, friendly, and full of contagious energy. On top of that, they are incredible cooks, turning every meal into a unique experience. Their knowledge of the region and local culture is fascinating, as they share insights about the traditions, art, and lives of the native inhabitants. As experts in the area, they take you to the best islands for snorkeling and uncover hidden spots where you can fully enjoy tranquility and natural beauty.

My partner and I took a 6 day catamaran cruise to explore this Caribbean paradise which made our holiday an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the combination of crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and the warm hospitality of the crew. San Blas offers a unique experience of connection with nature, the serenity of the deserted beaches and the authenticity of the Kuna culture that made us feel as if we were in our own private paradise.

First off, Diego, my captain, made every effort to make my stay comfortable, and to provide things I needed. When my foot was hurt, he provided bandages. When I got a bad sunburn, he had Aloe Vera. When I ran out of Tequila, he scoured the islands looking for more. When I bought a handmade sailboat for my nephew, he carefully packaged it for my return flight home. When he brought me to the San Blas airport for my return to Panama City, he twice returned to his ship to collect my guitar and my camera, which I'd forgotten, without complaint. He cooked a delicious breakfast each morning to my liking. He pointed out islands and landmarks, took me snorkeling twice, and made a bed for me on deck when the bedroom below deck proved too warm for me. You could not wish for a better captain for what became an 8-day trip (I extended my stay on his boat at the last minute, because I was having such a good time).
As for the promotional company here, which I guess advertises Diego's ship and arranges the details, I think some adjusting may be necessary.
First, Diego's ship (and I suspect others on the San Blas by Boat website) was not as advertised in the text nor photos. While these things bothered me very little, the more luxury-oriented traveler may have a harder time with it.
The toilets are pump toilets, which requires some upper body strength.
The bedrooms are not the pristine, perfectly manicured rooms shown in the photos. They were very cluttered with belongings; for instance, I could not use the medicine cabinet in the bathroom because it was full of belongings. Nor could I use most of the cabinets and drawers in the bedroom because they, too, were full of belongings.
I ordered the breakfast-only option, which Diego cooked each day beautifully, but the San Blas by Boat website leaves the impression that lunch and dinner are easily purchased on the islands, and that the food is gourmet-ish. Not so. Three or four nights, Diego and I hunted for an open restaurant so I could eat, and almost all were closed or out of food. Which meant that three or four nights, I went back to the ship and ate a plate of cheese and crackers. Diego did have potatoes, rice, vegies and fruit on board, as well as pasta, but I'm not a big eater of these things. All I really wanted was a nice plate of fish.
The islanders don't seem to know much about their islands. As a journalist, I've learned how to hunt down what I need with a whole lot of questions. So when the locals would tell me that there was no ice on the islands for sale, I found some. When they said there were no cigarettes, I found some. When they said I could not purchase Tequila, or any other liquor for that matter, I found some. It was sort of astonishing that people who have lived on these islands all their lives would not know what was available right next door.
So as I say, I would absolutely do this again, with Diego as captain. But the more picky traveler should be aware that the San Blas by Boat website is a bit misleading as to the amenities on board and on shore.
