Going to Essaouira’s fish market is like traveling back in time. It is all very authentic and sincere. Just the fishermen and their fish. It smells a lot and the ground is wet and dirty, so leave your best shoes at home. Worth a visit!

Choose freshly fish and have it grilled in front of you. Bargan the price a bit. Make sure you buy your own drinks before going to the market

You simply can't just work around without being harassed by very pushy men who try to pull you in their stall. If you stop to have a look at the menu, you are suddenly surrounded by 5 men who don't let you enjoy the experience....More

The daily fish market takes place down in the fishing port. If you're not sure how to find it, follow your nose (or locals with dead fish strung over their bicycle handlebars coming back from the market with their dinner for that evening). It's a...More

I loved this place. Basically, a heap of fish stalls vying for your business to come have their fantastic selection of seafood. You choose, they cook, you eat and done. But here's a tip: negotiate what you get and how much you pay. I managed...More

If you want some local sea food grub, then this is the place to come! As long as your not fussy about the smell of fish and basic dinning then you can eat as much seafood as you want, for next to nothing. All pretty...More

Nose plugs and solid shoes recommended. Seriously. Don't go if you have a very sensitive sense of smell and if you do go make sure you wear proper shoes or you will be soaked in stagnant fishy warm water.
