Not what I expected the hotspring to be... You need to fill up water from the taps to dip your body in it. There is one section for foot bath.
Toilet is clean with shower room. Swimming pool with a lifeguard available on site. However the drive was not very worth it for us.

There is a lot to do at Poring - it's not just hot springs. There is a brilliant canopy walk which is scary but worth the effort. The butterfly garden is interesting. There is a good restaurant by the swimming pool. You could spend a lot of time here!

Long drive from KK to hot springs. Enjoyed time in the spa bath but maybe not worth the journey time on difficult roads

Must visit hot spot if you are visiting Kundasang area... Tree Top walking is must try for everyone. My dad is 74 years old with good health, he managed to complete the walk. The hot spring is nice to relax after the walk. Clean facilities & convenient for families with kids /elderlies ... it just that Malaysia weather is very hot & got into hot spring is even hotter .. but there are room temperature small pools for cooling too... it’s definitely good to try it out.

A bit unexpected in that the springs have been channelled into a set of what are essentially public baths which families or groups can fill up for themselves, as well as shared foot baths and a childrens area, so not very natural in appearance at all, although baths are pleasant.
People also seem to get encouraged to the canopy walk as the main thing but frankly it's a long climb in order to traverse some rope walkways high up, but you see no wildlife (too much human activity) and its time-consuming when there are gardens etc that are worth investing time on.

Not worth the long trip from KK. We were expecting some natural springs with cool views. The surrounding nature was nice but the springs are pretty much outdoor bath tubs and it was very crowdy. We didn't feel like we wanted to go in at all. Water was kinda funky in some pools as well. The canopy walk way was pretty cool but not worth the long drive.

Visited over 10 years ago and the hot springs still look the same - aged. The paint is peeling, there are people in their clothes (and not bathing suits) soaking in there, and the toilet facilities... Aren't the cleanest. Would I come again? No.
The canopy walk is good fun, but you need to have the proper shoes and clothes - you will sweat a lot! Not suitable for those with health issues - the elderly couple in our tour had to sit out because it can be very steep and the path is a jungle path. If you get caught in the rain - good luck - there's no shelter. There is a small photography fee - I think RM5 - per camera.
Visited Kipungit Waterfall which is around 15 minutes from the hot springs - quite peaceful, clean, and there is 1 small hut for you to sit and rest in.

It's about 90 minutes drive from Kundasang. This place has a lot of activities to offer. During our visit, we went for a hike to Canopy Walk. Make sure you wear proper attire coz you'll be sweating & hiking before reaching the Canopy Walk. Once you reach there, ohh no regrets! the view is awesome. Oh don't forget to bring your own drink too. After canopy walk, you can go to butterfly farm. Once done, take a dip at the hotspring. They have dedicated closed section or open section. Open section is fine since there is individual bath tub you can use for yourself & your family. Eating / drinking is not allowed in that area. Facilities are also sufficient enough. There are lots of picnic area at the hotspring, prayer room, toilets, etc. We went to Kipungit waterfall. at first i thought of picnic there with my family. Thank god i didn't coz the journey to there is quite tiring if i bring the foods, portable chairs, etc. haha!! but if you think you're strong enough, then just bring it. They do have 1 picnic area at that place. Overall, i love that place!

The spring water was hot - the notice said that it was about 59 degrees Celsius. We could see some steam coming out of the spring water. We saw some dragon flies crowding around the water. Overall, we enjoyed our trip there and went for the Canopy Walk.

Wouldn't go our of my way to visit here. The accommodation was lovely, really nice villa, but the Poring Hot springs were disappointing. Just a load of pink baths which look like they need a good scrub with bleach, and people getting in and out of them all the time - surely that can't be hygienic. The rope bridges are definitely worth doing, and the waterfall was pretty. Restaurant was not great.

I know it's free if I have a national park admission ticket. Am I right?
Is it possible to have a ticket the day before? because it is a two day trip.

I cannot walk uphill without getting out of breath due to a medical condition. Can the canopy and the springs be accessed by car.

There is a parking area at the park but you definately have to walk through the forest to get to the canopy tree.
just walk slowly, get yourself a good pair of shoes and drink lots of water. Good luck

Hi!
How did you get from Kinabalu national park to Poring hot springs? I'm more interested in the canopy walkway and the Rafflesia garden outside of Poring.
Thanks!

We booked a guide through Amazing Borneo Tours to take us to Kota Kinabalu Park and Poring. We also did the canopy tour and the guide found us a Rafflesia in bloom on private property (he got the driver to ask around as to where one was in bloom). It was well worth having the tour organized...our guide (Reynold Miji) was amazing!

How long does the canopy walk take
TeeTham

An average will be 15 to 20 minutes for photo stops and waiting for those in front to clear the line. Do allocate 10 minutes to walk from the hot spring to the ticketing counter and another 10 minutes to trek up to the starting point which is a hut with a staircase.
