Located near the ocean and sells fresh caught seafood. A great place to grab a bite and enjoy the local atmosphere. A haven for foodies looking for something new to try out. Get yourself a fresh mango juice or satay.

Wonderful, colourful, wet and tasty. I loved it, also the kids, mostly we met locals enjoying their meal. The price of seafood is still quite high, regarding this is a local market - 18 rm per 100 g for tiger prawns, they are obviously pricey.

This is a night market with lots of fresh produce vegetables and fruits. There are also cooked food available but it’s not the cleanest you can imagine. Lots of smoke from the BBQ too. But I’m sure the food taste good.

Visited during Raya 2019. Loads of stalls selling fresh produce and there is even another food section selling freshly grilled seafood. Food was ok but don't expect it to be very clean. Tourists beware as the fruits were seriously overpriced! I was surprised when a seller started talking to me in Korean trying to sell me mangoes that were crazy crazy overpriced! I pity the group of Korean tourists beside us as their tour guide was recommending them to buy the mangoes.

Wet/dry market during the day. About 4pm the food tables are setup. Suggest that you count the number of prawn or whatever when you order and pay. It's reasonably priced but value/food safety should be considered. If you never experienced before, than go have fun and enjoy.

I was kind of lost when I was there for the first time. This place is very big. It divided into three parts: market that sells all kind of food and fruits, food section and handicraft. Local went there to do their marketing and meals. I think is a good place to have a peek of the local life.

waking into the seafood market is quite an experience - you're immediately accosted by multiple people trying to get you to eat at their tables. walk around first and make good decisions - we were offered extremely high prices for seafood at our first walk-around, and those prices went down on our second trip. we had tiger prawns one night - larger but not meaty, and opted for the smaller ones the second night. they'll bring your plates piecemeal, so know that you might get your fish first and your rice after you've finished the fish. the smoke from the grills can be very bad - try to sit further from those. and make sure to use lots of mosquito repellent.

After so many years - Sabahans have still not learnt - Kota kinabalu is as dirty as ever, the stench at the water front is horrible and worse still you can see boats being repaired in the waterfront thus polluting the water even more

I enjoyed a quick walk around this market and got sucked into a dinner of squid and rice which wasn't bad value.

Night markets are great for picking your seafood and getting it prepared any way you like. This one is no different, but I would say it is a little more expensive (maybe we got the tourist price) but still way cheaper than a hotel.

Hi Lenny, we were staying at the Horizon Hotel and the night market was on the promenade parallel with this. Hope this helps.

I am wondering how common it is to get sick from street food for a westerner?

Hi, I am afraid, nobody has done a survey to measure that, however I didn't get sick and neither any of my friends.Food is well cooked so my advice avoid salad and raw fish and enjoy your vacation😊
