unless you have a knowledge of flora and fauna or you hire a guide to explain you about the plants and other stuff, this would be a waste of the fees paid. there are far more interesting and challenging trails (FREE) that can be enjoyed

Just your average forest. A lot of dead pitcher plants. Maybe it's a seasonal thing. Few fishes in the pond also.

We were last here 14 years ago. We loved it. Now, it is tired and seriously needs attention. Possibly a poor month to go, but the flowers are tatty. The paths are worn. It has suffered from too many people. When compared to other Gardens...More

Must do, and walk around the nature trails. I wished we had planned to do the 3-4 day trek up the Mount Kinabalu, I am hoping to come again.

This outing requires stamina and energy. Be prepared to walk and wonder off the various path. At some point, remember to photograph Mountain Kinabalu, the highlight peak in Malaysia. The flora and fauna is amazing, do start early and enjoy the trek. Highly recommends if...More

We took the Silau-Silau trail which is (apparently) quite popular and saw some lovely flowers. The only problem was right at the very end of the trail- the bridge was damaged without warning which required a very precarious crossing

The walk through the gardens is filled with joy and love. The gardens have so much to offer and each climb comes with rest spaces for those of us who may not be as strong as we were. With beautiful birds, flowers, monkeys and other...More

Hi Mel Yeo, We rented a car and drove up because we also visited other attractions other than the garden. There’s Poring Hotspring and other stops you can make on the way down. I suggest you get your hotel concierge to give... More

We did this as a daytrip from Kota Kinabalu. We had pre-arranged a tour via Borneo Eco Tours. I guess local agents can arrange this trip or alternatively rent a car yourselve. It is a easy to drive and daytrip. You can hire... More
