The park surrounding the castle is very nice. Architecturally, it looks like a typical Japanese castle, but I do like visiting the different castles, reading their different histories and what finer details set them apart from the rest.

OK it is only the ruined stone bases and moats of what was once a huge castle area by the sea. Even so it is worth the modest entry fee (free for seniors) and the garden is well presented.

After seeing many Japanese Castles it's easy to become blasé about them. Takamatsu Castle however, is a little different and that's why I recommend it. The castle is known as the only Japanese Castle that uses ocean water for it's moat. As the castle is...More

Although only parts of the original castle still remain there is ample to fill an hour or two of leisurely strolling. The moat and bridge by themselves are outstanding. The garden is an early 1900's piece of botanical artwork with good English explanation signs describing...More

Not like kamamoto Castle and Matsumoto Castle. It was ruined but it still worth to go. Just don't expect too much.
