We visit it very later afternoon (around 5pm), which not many people around. Not cherry blossom time, but still beautiful temple to visit. Suggest to take JR line directly to go instead of bus. Around 500 per person one way for 10mins, 10mins walking from...More

Our last stop for Wakayama day trip. A short walk from the train station we strolled across the quiet neighbourhood on a Sunday afternoon for about 20mins. You will definitely see the Kimiidera shrine from a distance, as it’s nestled in the side of the...More

If you hate climbing, would not recommend but definitely this is a very nice place to visit during spring as the sakura trees are all planted among the steep slopes all the way up. It was raining when we came hence it was cold and...More

A steep climb in very hot weather but worth it to see a large wooden Buddha image. Nominal entrance fee.

The temple is in the middle of a residential area and smaller than expected. Would probably be beautiful during cherry blossom season.

It just 2-3 stations from Wakayama, by recommending from a local grandma, I've found this gorgeous place and think this is one of the best temples in Wakayama, the grandma told me there have wonderful cheery trees. 不過距離和歌山2-3個車站,她是由一個歐巴桑推介我來的美麗寺廟,如果你來的是櫻花盛開的季節,她更是一個非來不可的地方。

I really enjoyed my visit to Kimiidera Temple. It lay a relatively short walk away from Kimidera Station outside Wakayama. The final stretch of the walk was an invigorating uphill climb to the temple complex. I loved the temple layout, with rows of well-crafted Buddhist...More

The temple approach and the temple complex are both wonderful, there is quite an ascent up the temple steps, but climbing them rewards you with a spectacular view over Wakayama and the sea, as well as a really stunning and interesting temple area to explore....More

This temple contains very beautiful red buildings. It is very old Japanese temple and more than 1200 years old. Also, there is the largest wooden Budda in Japan. You can enjoy great scenary of Wakaura Bay from the temple.

I have been to this temple two times, once over the busy New Year, and the other during autumn when the trees were beautiful colours. It's a nice sized temple with many things to look at, there is also a little cafe and drink vending...More
