From the station, you see this street leading towards Himeji Castle so it's very easy to orient yourself. There's nothing particularly special worth visiting here but you can peep inside Japanese shops for local color or get some tea or an eel for lunch or...More

Otemae Street is clean, wide and a modern walkway. There are many restaurants, services and shops along the way before reaching Himeji Castle. It's a fairly short 15-20 minute walk and the best alternative to taking a taxi or bus. The best part of the...More

Otemae Street is the main road outside JR Station facing the direction of Hemiji Castle. There are Ginko trees and statues along the way apart from the many shops and restaurants on both sides. At the end of the street is the Hemiji Castle.

This is along the way from Himeji station to Himeji castle. A very nice street with lots of shops selling food and souvenirs. A very pleasant walk to the castle.

It's the main street of city, from Himeji Station to Himeji Castle. Full of restaurants, shops, department stores and hotels. If you have enough time, I would suggest you walk from the station to the castle via this street instead of taking the bus.

It’s a street full of shops. There is an arcade like on the right side of the street. I recommend walking there after a few meters in Main Street seeing Himeji Castle
