Itatehyozu Shrine was just a normal shrine near to Himeji Castle. Worth to have a look while you travel to the area.

Just a normal shrine near to Himeji Castle. Not a special one anyway. If happen you walk to the castle, just take your time view the shrine while passing by.

I was looking forward to seeing the kimono-covered buildings as was pictured here in tripadvisor. But those buildings aren't there anymore. Without that feature, it's just a regular shrine.

This was a really cool shrine. Adjacent to the typical shrine grounds are 3 large watertanks (?) covered in cloth/painted. One is covered in kimono and is really colorful. There are large structures of people/deities on each. The only downfall is that nothing is in English and so I don't know anything about this shrine - do your homework before you go!
