This was my fourth Culinary Backstreets tour (Istanbul, Lisbon, Mexico City) and it did not disappoint. Good pace and good amount of food without filling overly full. Great insight to the department store grocery store, a fun visit to a lovely rice cracker store to...More

Our first food tour ever and the bar is set high. Michelle, our guide, was generous with her knowledge and challenged us (and our two teenagers) to try everything. Our most special moment was sitting in the back room of a 60 year old family...More

We had taken the culinary backstreets tour of Istanbul several years ago and loved it. The Tokyo version was every bit as good. We cannot recommend Mairi and her culinary tour of Tokyo highly enough. She is friendly, charming, funny and knowledgeable about the things...More

Amazing day touring the backstreets of Tokyo with our guide, Michelle. The six of us, ages 14-57, all loved it. The food was delicious and we learned so much about the city. It was a great day!

We had a great time. Michelle & Micky were great. We learned about the great food in Tokyo. Food we wouldn’t tried on our own.

There are countless opportunities to shop in the

that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
