We accessed Motomachi (by foot) after spending a leisurely walk around Yamate. Both Western and Japanese retail shops, cafes, restaurants in this area (tourist-friendly). In my opinion, many Japan-made shoes are comfortable and offer value-for-money; this is one place to try them on. Shop staff...More

I was born on this street. But the clinic has been turned into a fancy prêt à porter clothing store, just like tens of other small businesses here. I really don't see anything special worth visiting here, unless you have a specific motomachi brand (kitamura,...More

Good place to stroll after a meal. Shops mainly offer tourist items. If you are fit you can walk to Chinatown from here.

I really enjoyed the Motomachi shopping strip, good variety of stores, great coffee spots, quiet and pretty to look at! Worth a visit.

One of the Yokohama area's posher shopping streets. Very nice and calm area and as with all of Japan, famously clean. Well worth a stroll around, especially as a foreigner re: tax free goodies :)

Motomachi is THE old Yokohama shopping district, fairly upmarket and fairly pleasant, don't miss Yamate Bluff just up the hill

Too many people skip Yokohama whilst visiting Japan. If in Tokyo for an extended stay, a weekday visit here would be a nice respite. The street is full of good shops and eats and very fashionable locals. There are smaller covered shopping arcades and plenty...More
