It was a fun and cool experience. The stairs are a bit of an exercise, but it was something I enjoyed to the fullest.

Very orderly, queues were formed for photo opportunities. Interesting peek into the architecture and local culture. There were some really old trees around the shrine, close to nature. Could use a little more translation for the write ups around the shrine.

A good 10-15 mins walk from Hakone Machi-ko pier. 1. Interestingly, we need to queue about 15mins (at around 3pm) to take photos at the Torri gate by the lake side. You will hand your camera/phone to the person behind you to take photo for...More

Shire is free, but you can purchase items when you are there. The parking lot is somewhat hard to find but with a GPS you will be able to find it easy. It takes about an hour too look at everything. Very nice place to...More

Was one of the most beautifull shrine we visited. The walk up the patch was amazing. So green and lush. With the contrast of the red lanterns. Would love to go back and spend more time just soaking up the view.

Had seen photos on this website which made me want to visit. But none had prepared me for how ancient, beautiful and picturesque this area is. Humbled 🙏🏻

A Hakone landmark to which visitors should pay respects. The Shrine is a bit up the hill and a giant Torii is in the water of the lake.

Our Mount Fuji tour stopped here, but we only had about 30 minutes to see a number of attractions. I wish we had more time at the shrine. It was very crowded as there were many tour buses stopping here.

Like everyone else we took the tourist bus here and then walked the forest path to the shrine. There was a queue of people to take a picture with the torii but it was such a beautiful setting it wasn't surprising. The shrine itself was...More
