I loved this place. It is well wor thg h a visit. The views are picturesque and different. Even the smell of sulfur did not bother me, it was part of the experience. Will be coming back!

Getting here is easy and worth the time and crowd. This was such a neat sight and incredibly well organized. Take the lift over the valley and take in that wonderful sulfur smell ;) There are public restrooms, food, souvenirs, and other sights to see...More

The view from the top, the ride in cablecar, the black eggs. A nice stop while in Hakone. Black eggs taste like any boiled eggs. The color is impressive. Funny and cheap lunch/snack.

Very special place to experience how volcanoes look . Fumes come from different small holes on the valley . Try the black eggs cooked in the thermal waters . A must if you visit hakone

I have visited several volcanic areas over the year. This was the first one which had both obvious volcanic and industrial activity. In viewing it I was reminded of classic hellfire and brimstone. While the fire was present only by smoke, the yellow and green...More

A trip outside the countryside worth taking. Getting there is moderately challenging. Various mode of transport from Rapid train from Tokyo to the local trains in Odawara & finally the cable car to Owakudani Valley is breathtaking. An experience you should not miss. Can go...More

On a clear day, the view of Mt. Fuji is incredible. I heard you take a bit of a gamble depending on the weather though. I skipped the kuro tamago that adds 7 years to your life (you have to buy 5 of them) and...More

I think yes, a lot of people came here taking their children too! Just don’t stay too long and since there are nothing really interesting either. Just take a look for 1 hour then just leave for next destination
