Mr. Katsumi was available with 2 days to take us (4 adults) to show us the Buddhist temple, rice farming, and country side on Narita. Shared the knowledge of the village. On the 2nd day he took us to Tokyo. He was so king to bring us a wheelchair for my mom who had difficulty walking. Mr. Katsumi also did his research to take us to a noddle place that swrv3d vegan and gluten-free soup to accommodate some of us in our party.
Best guide with amazing knowledge, and outstanding customer service.

Just spent 3 of the most wonderful days with Kamikawa Katsumi from Narita Rainbow Tours. Kats was the absolutely best Tour Guide we have ever had. Extremely knowledgeable accommodating He made us feel like we were s special.
We went to Mt Fuji, Tokyo, and tour of Narita. Everyday was exciting and interesting.
He provided lots of interesting information never a dull time traveling talked about the Japanese Culture importance of the Temples shrines and so much more.
His English is impeccable.
If ever in Japan Narita Area only ask for Kamikawa Katsumi if you want your stay to be the most memorable time in Japan.

I enjoyed this excellent 4-5 hour tour of the charming town of Narita in between flights. Narita has an interesting history, being on the old travel route from Tokyo, and has a large Buddhist temple that’s renowned in Japan. Also provides a good picture of what Japan outside the big cities is like. Katsumi’s guiding was excellent. He provided lots of interesting information and answered well every question I asked. His English is very good. Easy pick up and drop off at airport. Excellent value too (he should probably raise his prices).

I had a wonderful tour in Narita with Rainbow Tours. Katsumi Kamikawa was waiting for me at the airport and shared his knowledge and expertise with me for five hours. He was delightful and very knowledgable. A bonus was that he had been a student at UCLA, my alma mater.
I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have a long layover at Narita Airport.

I had a 12 hour layover at Narita and really wanted to go to Tokyo and see some of the sites. Narita Rainbow Tours made that happen and they did an excellent job. A guide met me at the airport exit and made the necessary arrangements for me to take the train to Tokyo. With only 12 hrs, I didn't have time to try and figure out the subway system on my own, so this was a great service. Another guide, Akane, met me in Tokyo and took me to all the sites I wanted to visit. She had great recommendations for seeing the key sites and maximizing the time I had in Tokyo. She provided great information on the shrines, temples and Imperial Palace. I wasn't sure if I'd get to do much with only 12 hrs in Tokyo, but Narita Rainbow Tours and Akane really helped me organize a good tour for the time I had. I would absolutely use them again.

I booked a tour with Rainbow Tours because of all the amazing reviews. Everything that has been written is 100% on the mark.
Booking via email was very easy and I always received a quick reply from Katsumi.
At last minute I had another colleague that wanted to come along which was absolutely fine.
The day was simply amazing!! Saw some beautiful temples, stunning scenery, amazing history, sampled local delicacy food and thoroughly enjoyed the company of our guide Katsumi.
Thanks so much for a very special day. I can't wait to come back to book another tour.

I booked this tour for my elderly (80+) parents from all the amazing reviews from other travellers.
My parents had a wonderful time and were looked-after like family, by Mr Katsumi and his Colleagues.
My parents had a private tour of Tokyo already booked in-advance. They thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and also booked the Narita and Country-side private tour. Mr Katsumi was very conscious of their limited mobility and provided a wheelchair to make them more comfortable, and provide dietary options for them being used-to Indian vegetarian food usually.
My parents have wonderful memories of their time in Narita and would recommend Mr Katsumi, Collegues and Narita Rainbow tours to anyone visiting Tokyo for the first time.

My wife and I offer Katsumi the highest praise for his knowledge and courtesy. Our two-day tour with him was perhaps our best travel experience ever.

I had high expectations after reading all the reviews. Suffice to say we weren't disappointed in the least. I had exchanged emails with Katsumi months in advance and he always responded within minutes. As advertised he met us at our hotel (6 of us), transported us to the Airport, purchased our tickets and got us to the correct train. We were met by our guide Akane at the train station. Akane was simply terrific and made the trip for us. She customized an itinerary that included a stop at the Tobu Service Center and assisted us in purchasing tickets for a subsequent trip we were taking to Nikko on our own, later in the week. Lunch was at a great local restaurant, just off the river. Akane's personal touch was evident all day as she provided historical insights, cultural information and was gracious in answering all our questions. We focused on shrines, local markets and a park.
If you are wanting a individualized, stress free experience Narita Rainbow Tours is your ticket. Again, our many thanks to Katsumi and Akane.

On May 11, 2019, my wife and I had a very long layover in Narita airport. We decided to schedule a Narita Rainbow tour with Katsumi. We were not disappointed. Katsumi tailored the tour based on arrival time. As promised, Katsumi was waiting for us with a sign outside the customs/baggage area. Our first stop was the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, which was having a special celebration. We were able to witness traditional dancers during a special temple celebration and enter the temple. Katsumi provided a very informative walking tour of the temple grounds where we learned about local customs and history. Next, we visited a city street in Narita for some local shopping. No tourists whatsoever. It was very authentic. We then headed into the country to see some rice paddies and the world’s tallest Buddha - Ushiku Daibutsu.
Katsumi is very responsive to email inquiries, timely on pickup, very knowledgeable, and even dropped us off at our layover hotel. The net is that he is very accommodating and will tailor the tour to your needs. Great personal service. Katsumi has my strongest recommendation. Thank you, Katsumi!

What tours (not day tours) are possible from (Narita) Tokyo between 2nd and 5th May 2019?
Having looked on websites, this period appears to be out due to National Holidays.

what do you mean by (not day tours)? You are just looking for night tours? if so probably better to stay in Tokyo, not Narita.
We provide day tours on any given day, regardless of national holidays. Send us an inquiry mail for further discussion of possible tours.

We were picked up at the airport but as accommodating as they were I see no reason they wouldn't pick you up from your hotel. However, the tour we did was in the area near the airport which I understand is quite a distance from Tokyo if that is where you are staying. The company was very responsive to emails so it can't hurt to ask. Sorry I can't give you a more specific answer.

May I ask can you select the time of your tour? How many hours is the tour? Was it worth the cost? Thank you for your time. Do they take you where they think are the highlights of Tokyo?

You may want to contact Narita Rainbow tours to see what they can set up for you. I'm not sure what time things begin to close down in Narita. In any event, 19 hours is a long time, and I think you have time to do a short tour, and check in to a hotel for some hours. Have fun!
