I was introduced to this shop back in 2018 when I participated in the Narita Transit & Stay tour. TBH I was not expecting there would be a Kimono fitting option on the part of the tour and more pleasantly surprised that I only paid ¥ 800 or under $8 for the 2 hour rental of the Kimono.
I was worried if they would have anything that would fit me, as I am plus sized, around size 16 US wise. But they had something for me.
Took 3 women to fit me in a traditional winter Kimono for my October visit. They binded me with a sash that felt like a Japanese version of a corset. I actually looked slimmer wearing the Kimono. They also did my hair and adorned it with pins and flowers.
I was surprised I was able to do the long walk to the Naritasan temple in full Kimono gear including the traditional slippers. Best was getting compliments from elderly at the temple.
I had wonderful photos in the temple and gardens. Though I would not advise wearing the full Kimono get up to get to the Japanese garden as there are many stairs and uphill walks and my feet hurt so bad from it.
The ladies at the shop were wonderful and did such a great job in setting me up. So much I returned in the summer and this time wore a traditional summer Yukata.
Other Kimono stores will charge more, they are the best bang for your buck and they are lovely people. Will highly recommend this shop.
Also they have traditional Komono's and yukatas for men and children.
