Nice park with a beautiful temple. The street that leads to it is a touristic attraction with lots of typical shops and restaurants.

Beautiful park and a must see if you have a long layover from the international airport. I had an 11 hr layover. So I was able to explore Japan and the tourism staff at the airport were very helpful and got me information on how to use the train to and from the location and a map! Had plenty of time to explore shop and eat and plenty of time to chill at the airport. Definitely recommend if you have a long layover. My trip outside of Japan was 4 hrs and I thought that was plenty of time to check the park. At the entrance their is English map to help guide you. It was very peaceful when we went which was early in the morning

A very lovely complex of temples, shrines and wooded places. It is on a hilly landscape adding to the ambiance. The plethora of temples and shrines create a calming ambiance as they should. Some temples and shrines are open and are used by Japanese worshipers. The park is well worth the wall and the waterfall is so very tranquil. You can spend many hours here.

It's a large and beautiful garden located behind the main building of the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Noteworthy are the flowering trees and shrubs around ponds. Great walking course very popular among the rich nature which includes the plum blossoms of spring and the autumn colors.

Park of Narita, the temple of Naritasan which is included in the park and the road that leads to the temple from the center of the city are its main tourist spot.
The park is huge and in it, you can see waterfall, lakes as well as a lot of Buddhist temples and a calligraphy museum.

Naritasan Park offers a great place to relax, wander and enjoy the surrounding attractions of the Naritasan Shinjoji Temple complex and Calligraphy Museum only about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Narita. There is a mixture of gentle lakeside and woodland paths that make it a good place to sit or wander with plenty of opportunities to use your camera.
This is one of Japan's larger landscaped parklands and along with the other attractions Narita has to offer make this a place worthy of inclusion in your itinerary not just somewhere to spend a layover while waiting for your flight from the airport a 10-15 minute drive away.

Had an early flight out from Narita Airport and was looking for places to visit and things to do during the evening before that. Didn't do much of research but came across this park and decided to head there.
The park was a very pleasant surprise. Wandered around it for over an hour. Beautiful Japanese architecture combined with landscape garden elements.
I visited in mid February and managed to catch plum blossoms in full bloom. Autumn colours will most likely look absolutely stunning in here.
Also, If you're heading out of Japan and looking to pick up some souvenirs, there's plenty of vendors right outside the park area.
This place has pretty much everything one could hope for. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Narita.

Full of water features! This garden would be amazing in Spring as it is in Autumn. A least a couple of hours here as you wind along many paths.

This looks like a wild forest in an urban setting. You get this sense of wilderness the moment you come into the park. The peaceful environment further reinforces this feeling. Most visitors to the Naritasan Shinsoji complex do not come this far and hence the place looks rather deserted. But, on closer look, you will find many landscaping elements. It is a park designed to “look like” a wild forest. Nevertheless, given the serenity of the place, it is a prefect place to take a leisure stroll.

Narita is more like a day trip. If you have four days, I suggest you go to Tokyo instead and you have a lot more to see/do.

I don't know if it is forbidden or not, but actually, I did not see anybody eating at the park. There are some areas to seat and rest, and besides that there is a cosy restaurant where you can have something to eat.

Perdon! Buen viaje

Hi everyone.. How long does Naritasan Park from Narita International Airport? I am planning to visit Japan for the first time alone and I started searching places nearby, I don't wanna jump to places far from the airport. I am coming in Sep 2nd week autumn season so I would love to see the nature part of Japan.

Hi there. Naritasan Park is a little less than 10km from the airport, so it's not a huge taxi ride there and back. You'd be looking at about a 15 to 20 min journey each way. Enjoy your holiday!
Hi everyone. I would like to know if it is possible to walk around the park without booking a tour?

Yes, very easy to explore without a guide. All main attractions are available in English. The gardens are, of course visual attractions & need little explanation.
Hello, Do you know how much it cost a taxi from Narita international airport to Naritasan? And how many minutes take it?
thinkNarita
Narita, Japan19 contributions
takes about 15 minutes from the airport.
It probably cost around 3,000 yen. Better to mention Shinto Kaikan, instead of saying Naritasan Temple. To get to the front entrance, the taxi needs to take this one way street (Omote Sando) all the way from the station area, whereas from Shito Kaikan, you can just walk across the square in front. This saves you roughly 2km.
Good luck!
