This is our first Michelin-star Japanese food and the bar is set pretty high. I don’t know exactly what we ate sometimes but they all tasted good. Service was also superb albeit English is minimal. But it’s not an issue at all. It’s got its...More

We passed through the Garden on our trip from the Omaya Shrine to the Kanazawa Castle. This Garden was originally the private garden of the Maeda. Although small, it is beautifully arranged with ponds and a hillside. We were provided with a nice talk, in...More

After the razz-ma-tazz and crowds of Kenroku-en, this small, elegant garden is a welcome relief. No crowds, tour groups or souvenir stalls, so you can sit down and contemplate the beauty of the garden and the skill of its designer without disturbance, You can participate...More

Go for a steady walk early in the morning to capture good photographs. Colours and calm scenery are perfect!

Very pretty small garden but perhaps I am Smitten because we happened upon the full moon harvest festival and had a light show with music as the moon was rising. It was lovely.

This wonderful garden has only been created within the past couple of years. It is an amazing landscape garden with water feature and air-conditioned visitor house where you can take a seat indoors on a hot day and admire its beauty. The staff there spoke...More

We were drawn to this garden by a Fodor's Japan guide commentary (2016) saying it is a place to see... Well actually it pales compared with the Kenroku-en Garden just next. Nice but overrated.

These gardens have only been designed and built in the last 20 years and are stunning. Enter from the shrine entrance not from the castle and the gardens spread out in front of you, as a wow factor.
