EatWith is a shared-dining experience that has expanded to over 50 countries all over the world. Similar to Airbnb, EatWith taps into the sharing economy, providing food lovers the opportunity to eat in the homes of talented chefs. Inviting guests over and having parties is not very common in Japan. But EatWith Kanazawa cooking lesson shares the intimate dining experience, as well as Kanazawa's rich food culture, with visitors to Japan. The aim of table-sharing is for both guests and hosts to enjoy good food and good conversation; it's not just a cooking lesson. Preparing meals together is one of the best ways of getting to know one another, and it's even better when you're in a foreign country! Guests can learn about local ingredients, try new cooking methods, and authentic Japanese customs. In return, they can also share their local culture with me. It's an international exchange that happens around a lunch table. This isn't an experience that can be had in restaurants.

Cooking our own tempura and having pleasant conversations with local hosts at their small apartment were fun and delicious! I highly recommend this experience!
