Wasn’t really of interest to us, was worth waking past but that’s about it. Better things to see in such a beautiful town!

We stumbled across this place and at an entry of I think approx 400¥ per adult it was well worth it. Well preserved building to give you a real sense of what buildings were like back in those ages.

The government house is very large and steeped in history. It reminds one of a typical Japanese building, with bamboo mat flooring and screens. Found the toilets on display very interesting. Loved the gardens! People paid taxes using rice bales.
