This is a reasonably priced hot spring spa, but on the weekend during my visit it was very busy and crowded. I find this type of spa to be more relaxing when less crowded.

No it doesn't. You would have less issues in smaller ones, maybe in the country. Ryusenji is a massive one so we never see inked people there.
