Went with low expectations after being encouraged to attend as a must do Vietnamese experience and was very pleasantly surprised. Short little cameos of life and culture kept us entranced for the 45 minutes. Good to see the puppeteers at the end too.

The water puppet show is fun and fascinating lasting just 50 minutes. The theater is across the street from Hoan Kiem Lake and an easy walk if you are staying in the Old Quarter. There are many shows a day so you can just walk...More

A lovely way to spend an hour. We thoroughly enjoyed watching this beautifully presented cultural experience. We’ve seen many puppet shows before, but never the unique water puppets of Vietnam. Loved the stories in each act- just like watching daily life in Vietnam. For such...More

We loved this show!! It was an enjoyable, well performed theatrical performance with something for both young and old. The puppets are very detailed and the show introduces the audience to Vietnamese cultural stories through humourous dramatisations. The show lasted about 45 mins, ending with...More

After reading a few average reviews of the water puppets we didn’t come in to the show with high expectations, so we were quite taken aback by how good it was. A dozen different short acts were performed over the 45 minutes using a range...More

Was quite excited to experience something unique to Hoi An and this was recommended. Bought my ticket outside Ancient Town on the day. No haggling for a price which I much prefer. Was the same price even if bought at the actual venue. No transportation...More

It was interesting for about 5 mins. Would recommend seeing it once. Wouldn’t go back, found it boring and was glad it was only 45 mins long. Tickets were cheap and staff friendly. Seats very uncomfortable.

Have seen the water puppets in Hanoi and loved them so was keen to take the grandchildren to see them. The children loved it. Just long enough for them not to get bored and although they did not understand what the puppets were saying they...More
