Overview
More
Located on the banks of the poetic Thu Bon River, in central Quang Nam province, 30 kilometers south of Da Nang, Hoi An ancient town is an Eastern oriental classic captivation. With the strategic location on the banks of the great river, with one seaside border (East), it used to be one of the major trading centers in Southeast Asia during the 16th century due to the early western trader occupying period.

Hard to believe this beautiful place is real. Walk along the narrow streets, browse the fascinating shops, and stop for a coffee or cold drink. Stunning at sunset when the lanterns are lit - be sure to walk along the river bank, take a ride...More

This area was a fantastic area to explore - good combination of restaurants & bars, historic buildings and sights, as well as a wide variety of stores in amongst the market. Unlike other "similar" areas elsewhere in Vietnam, there were some quality products in amongst...More

Our first visit to Vietnam was an experience I wasn't expecting. Other than the London Underground at peak time I don't think I have been anywhere as busy, but don't let that put you off. The atmosphere and beauty of the town make up for...More

Hoi An is very beatiful particularly during sunrise and sun set! Do visit the city center and the Canal about one to two hours before sun set! There are wonderful reflections in the Canal from the old houses during this time! There are two streets...More

Second time I've been here and it just gets better. The people are lovely and the place is stunning. There are many opportunities to have a drink, a bite to eat, or do some shopping, you can also just wander around. The only issue is...More

A must do, and not just once. Much better at night, once the thousands of lanterns are lit up. The river at night is truly spectacular. All the punts and the candles people release onto the river is quite stunning. Particularly so from the balcony...More

They give you a map with the touristy spots highlighted along with a brief explanation of what they are. Anything more than that you would have to find online, I think.

We only rented 125cc mopeds, modern and up to date models and we weren't asked for a drivers license for them. I think licenses are needed for larger bikes

The lanterns are only for decorative purpose. Yes, most are Switched on during evenings. Enjoy the ones along the canal bridge.
