Not very often I give somewhere such a low score, but there is nothing to the place. A couple of statues and that is about it. Only reason we stayed longer is that the students were doing an amazing race and had to get one person to draw while the rest ran and gave pointers on what to draw.

I went to the Hoi An Sculpture Garden. It is quiet and you can admire all the sculptures and there are a lot of trees and benches to relax and cool down. Across the street you can view the Old Town of Hoi An. It is fun to go and relax there

There are a selection of stone sculptures spread out on the bank of the river on the island side. Some are quite interesting but really nothing to wow!
Maybe I am biased as I live near to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On the southern bank of Hoi An's Thu Bon River on An Hoi Island there is a kilometer long sculpture garden, containing dozens of huge sculptures.

Most are in granite and all are abstractionist, but it is amusing to try to work out what the artist is trying to say.

Beware: On two occasions on this walk I have encountered two Vietnamese women selling fruit from baskets hanging on yolks on their shoulders. Without asking they will put the yolk on your shoulders and pretend they want a photograph with you. The moment the photograph is taken they start demanding money from you for the photo op.

An Hoi Sculpture Gardens - nothing that spectacular, but more interesting when illuminated at night.

There are just one or two sculptures with most of the displays being of plastic with interior coloured lighting at night. It does add some colour to the riverfront at night. Take a walk and enjoy. The best thing about the gardens are the many restaurants and bars that line them.

Hoi An is most noted for its ancient houses, temples and pagodas.

But along a 300 meter stretch of the Hoi An River is a fascination sculpture garden with dozens of sculptured installations.

Most of them are highly abstracted and I could only guess at the artists' intents.

But a few of them made for amusing photographs with myself and granddaughters poking our heads fhrough the holes in some of the huge granite carvings.
