Usually you would identify some of the characteristics of this castle with the standard medieval counterparts, high mountain, views from miles around, using the terrain, defensive inexpugnable position, ... but nothing prepares you to this castle because it is all of this in the extreme....More

Museum passes (we bough one for the Cappadocia region) don't work here...but it's so worth the wee bit of $ to get glimpse into this natural phenomena/castle...take your breath away - literally and figuratively!

If you need a quick way to get a look of the valley, this is an option, but the wiew is better in some of the other places. There are stairs, and you must be rather fit to reach the top

The castle is absolutely amazing! It is 70m high, which makes it the highest point in the area. You can walk all the way up to enjoy a wonderful view over the Cappadocian landscape. It is basically a massive rock which has some rooms carved...More

this place is extraordinary how the ancient people managed to curve all of these caves is something from another world. it is highly recommended to visit the castle near the sunset time you'll get an amazing view from the top.

We went to Uçhisar Castle during our bike trip to Cappadocia. The castle showed us her beautiful view with flowers.

Right in the heart of Uchisar. The best time to visit the castle is just before sunset. Interesting to walk through.

It’s one of the highest point around, therefore it has some magnificent views from the top. Easy to walk around (when it’s not hot outside). Well worth spending few lira for a ticket.

It's a nice place to have a look at but didn't like how crowded it is at the top. Easy access to go up and down the stairs and nice to have a look at

Uchisar and the castle. you may need a couple of hours, however it is a great place to have as a base to explore the whole region. We stayed at Ansia Hotel at the base of the castle, highly recommended and owner speaks... More
