On our way back from Goreme open museum, we found a small sign that there is a church inside, its a long walk that involves some hikings, we were pretty exhausted when we reached the top of the mountain that we needed sometime to catch our breath. We had a musuem pass but apparently its not involved in that so we booked a 7TL ticket, its a pretty small church, we were the only two visitors so we had the place for ourselves for about a full hour. Its not worth the walk, if you are going by a motorcycle or any ride that would be better. The churches in the open air museum are much more prettier so there not much more that this church offers.…

Although I’m not a fan of paying for visiting rock formation, this church was a notable exception and it’s frescoes were quite nice - even compared to the Open Air Museum (few hundred meters away). Price was 7TKL per person. Worth it.

Love this church, in easy walking distance from Göreme. It’s very pretty, with an unusual shape which looks like something from my childhood stories. It’s a small charge to go inside but worthwhile. Delightful.

place was not best sign posted to get to but was worth the 5 min stroll from the main road. only a small church and far from the best in the area, but worth a visit and the 5tl entrance fee paid, the guide once asked will give you information on the church and if your lucky and can speak a little turkish will offer you a turkish cay. very good paintings on the inside of the church…
