Don't pay the entrance fee. If you access trough town, they will charge you 3Tl to go up to the viw point. If you access from the other side, there is just the mountain and you can access freely. We visited coming back from a trekking day and didn't even realized that this was the same place where they make you pay.…

Our hotel was only 5 minute's walk from here ended up going here to see the sunrise and sunset. Views at both times were beautiful, especially at sunrise with all the balloons flying around. Some of them even landed on the hill. From here you get a panaromic view of Goreme and surrounding. It did get a bit crowded in the morning and when the trailers started to come up for the balloons, the road was fully blocked. We had to wait til the road cleared to walk down. They do charge 3TL per person to go up to the view point.…

You have to pay a small fee to get up the hill to Sunset Point, it’s only 3 lira per person, you pay in cash only at a little hut at the bottom of the slope. We didn’t go here for Sunset but during the day, there is a cafe/bar at the top and also a sign that says “Goreme” which you can take a photo with. There are a few souvenir sellers trying to up-sell their goods! Worth a quick visit for the view. …
