This little museum was lovely, but still more to do for non Thai speakers. While the placards are (mostly) in English and Thai, The audio is just in Thai. But well worth a visit to put Udon Thani in context.
The Muang Udon Thani museum is a small museum showing some of the history of Udon Thani we travelled with a tour bus that stops there you can find it outside central plaza entry is free... But they ask for a donation.
- It was an old colonials style building and it was used as a school and some office before and it took about 3 years to renovate (quite a long time compare it what we get from it)

This museum has been closed for renovation for a while. When we were there in January 2016, we could see that the building was in a good condition when we looked at it from the outside (just renovated).

Sept 2015, and presently getting a long over due face lift and maintenance. Roof done and still has scaffolding for outside touch up, so not sure if open. Use to be free or donation, but may charge when open, but inexpensive to be sure.
