About
Adjacent to Patong Beach, this buzzing and vibrant strip is a great place to start your Phuket pub crawl. Enter past the iconic Patong Beach sign and prepare your senses for the neon lights, throngs of tourists and touts, street vendors selling snacks, and dance anthems pumping from the plethora of go-go bars and clubs. Those planning to partake in the evening festivities can purchase skip-the-line tickets in advance for entry to various nightclubs. Bangla Road sees dense crowds, especially during the peak holiday season in December. Park yourself at a bar, grab a beer and watch the night unfold. – Tripadvisor

    Not seedy at all
after hearing stories and having been to Bangkok in some dodgy spots I wasn't expecting much better. this was clean, friendly and no pressurising sales people. good bars and some great bands playing. Mojos is a really nice restaurant at the far end from the beach (Italian but do all styles). Watch the beer prices though down the road ... the first beer is the price they get you in on and then the price steadily rises per drink ?? no set prices.

    What an Experience
So we came here for New Year's Eve and it was crazy. So, I'm sure any other time of the year it won't be as chaotic. Don't get me wrong it was an experience and anyone should try it, but this was worse than a subway station in London or New York. Shoulder to shoulder congestion moving an inch an hour. We arrived around 11:15 to get to the beach for the fireworks, which we did make it bit normally it's a 3 minute walk. It's a lively, party scene, with loud music, tantalizing lights, go-go dancers , and of course the silly string. Silly string vendors line up the road to sell 3 cans for 100 ฿. Beware as you will get silly string everywhere! Its funny I witnessed 3 or 4 obnoxious drunken tourist/foreigner deliberately spray others directly in the face 🙄. So just be mindful. The fireworks were amazing, the crowd was diverse, and overall it was exciting but will probably never do it again for New Years.

    Vegas Strip of Phuket Thailand
This is an "if you're here, you might as well" kind of place. It is worth walking through at night. It is easy to bar-hop and eat at the open stalls (I recommend kabobs). I was also able to shop at the knock-off shops and enjoy some people watching. However, it is VERY touristy and gets a little sketchy and drunk-y after about 11pm. If you've been on the Las Vegas strip late at night, it's a very similar experience. I wouldn't recommend spending more than an evening here as it doesn't offer anything unique like other Thai experiences!

Amazing visit to Phuket. Bangla Road is very busy with alot to do. It’s must visit for first timers. The experience is like nothing else. If you want more of recharge and relax vacation, you might not like as much. But even then you have to come here, even if for a day.

Excellent place for a night out a sensory overload. Can’t get enough of this place. Great music, happy party people, its just fantastic. I recommend Harem for dancing and ladies. Avoid Suzy Wongs, dreadful music and a huge rip off

Typical tourist street full of vendors with the same merchandise. Most are dishonest and quite a price 3X’s the actual retail value. Very 1 to 5 will give a near reasonable price but even then it will still be over what they can sell something for. Haggle haggle haggle I can’t say it more! They all have a calculator sitting there to type in a price then offer it to you to type in what you want to pay…assuming it’s so the next tourist can’t hear as they will try to over charge them too! Every five steps “tuk tuk” ..that’s someone offering a ride in a mini open air little covered motor wagon type transport with speakers all around it to play music for the riders. Something young people in groups would love that’s partying on vacation!

It’s food vendors galore that are both appealing and not appealing visually.

My family and I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Bangla Road near Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand, particularly when it came to dining on seafood. This place left such a sour taste in our mouths, and I feel compelled to share our unfortunate encounter.

As we ventured down the notorious alleyway adorned with fresh seafood stalls on both sides and a myriad of tables in the center, we were immediately bombarded by aggressive vendors vying for our business. The atmosphere was far from welcoming, with the relentless pressure to sample their seafood options bordering on harassment.

After reluctantly choosing one of the stalls, it became painfully evident that many of them were interconnected, if not owned by the same restaurant. The real horror began when we decided to select our seafood. To our dismay, the vendors brought out already cooked seafood, making it virtually impossible for us to discern its freshness or quality.

We opted for live prawns, which were considerably larger when we made our selection, only to be served much smaller prawns with missing meat from their tails. When we rightfully raised our concerns, the response was infuriatingly dismissive, with the vendors blaming it on a "mix-up" in our order. They reluctantly replaced our order with another plate of pre-cooked, and apparently, equally uninspiring prawns that tasted far from fresh.

Our suspicions were further validated when we noticed two neighboring tables experiencing similar dissatisfaction with their seafood selections. At one table, a party had ordered three lobsters, only to leave them untouched, presumably due to spoilage or quality issues. This was a clear indication that something was seriously amiss with the seafood being peddled in this area.

I implore anyone considering dining at Bangla Road near Patong Beach to think twice and save their hard-earned money. The blatant deception and subpar quality of seafood in this area is nothing short of a scam, and there are undoubtedly far better options available elsewhere in Phuket where you can enjoy a genuine and satisfying seafood experience without the disappointment and deception we encountered.

Bangla Road has turned into a mini Bangkok. They’ve combined the ping pong shows with sex. All the nice shops have vanished, full of bars and definitely not for family’s to take a stroll.

Ping pong touts, prostitution and the smell of weed await you on bangla road. It’s a miracle if you can make it more than 5ft without someone shoving a card in your face for a sex show or half price drinks.

We found watching the pole dancers very amusing as they looked so disinterested. Although the one dancing in the glass box above ‘moulin rouge’ was definitely giving me sex trafficking vibes. She was out of it.

It’s worth going just to have a nosey, but we’re glad we didn’t spend any money there. Save yourself some baht and go to a bar around the corner.
