There aren't a lot of attractions in Daejeon compared to Seoul but it has a rather homely vibe. The expo park was one the local government's effort to promote the city's science industry and now it has become a hangout for families and young people. We visited during the evening and there were kids playing and young people skateboarding. There isn't much to do but its a good place for exercise and taking a stroll.

10 October, 2016.
I was in Daejeon for a conference, from 10-14 October, 2016. The
conference venue was at the Daejeon Conference Center, which is a
stone's throw from the Expo Park. The conference welcome
reception was held in the Expo Park. The most representative
structure in the Expo Park is the Hanbat Tower (Hanbat is the old
name of the city of Daejeon), a needle-like tower with a ring
around it. The Expo Park has a very impressive musical waterfall,
and a light-and-sound programme at the park is a treat for the senses.
There are some interesting sculptures on the grounds in front of
the Hanbat Tower: a large worker ant, a wire-frame whale (with its
mouth on one end, as if coming out of the cement, and the tail at the other),
a statue of Einstein, and quite a few more.

I believe I went when the Expo Park was not in season. It was still open, but no one was there. It was okay for me though, I got to see some of the attractions without a line!

Its a little old, don't visit it for The Expo. But a nice View for 2,500 won. Just don't bother if your not nearby.

I enjoyed the view from the tall tower, but a lot of the exhibition was old and should be modernised (it was built for an expo in 1993)! Quite a few things were closed, so I can't judge them.

I like the photos by the Expo Tower and the buildings near it. It is close to the Smart City or probably this is part of it. It's to strolland take photos in and by the Expo Bridge.
Not too bad. It's true that museums herein are outdated. Good for a fuss free outing.

I visited the expo park during the october. The place was most definitely excellent back in the days, but nowadays most of the park is in the reconstruction. No maglev train and most of the attractions are available, but whats left off it is still nice to see.

There isn't much to do in Expo Park. Everything is outdated, especially the science exhibits. I though the saving grace would be the ferris wheel, but the box was so enclosed, I couldn't even get a good view. Not worth your time, in my opinion.
