Lovely museum, easy to get around, sadly not a lot of exhibits, but interesting enough. However, the carousel is well worth the ride. Cafe has limited choices.

I was so impressed with this museum. It is clean and tasteful. So many exhibits to see and learn about. You can spend a few hours reading the facts on the exhibits. It works on donations...no ticket fee. We went on Saturday and the parking...More

Let me start by saying, you can access the museum and the Capitol without having to go outdoors if you park in one of the indoor parking lots. This is especially good on a rainy day. I also don't give an "excellent" rating unless something...More

Definitley worth doing and lots of interesting stuff. Not very interactive so not great for young kids (though they do have a young kids discovery center). Wish the layout was a bit more cohesive, but definitely worth doing.

This is a great place to visit which will give you both recent history of our state as well as long past history. It is also a great place to take friends and family from out of state.

We visited the museum on a Saturday while spending some time in Albany. The exhibits of mammoths and mastodons were fascinating, with a lot of explanatory material and a full size mastodon skeleton composed of actual remains supplemented with simulated bones. Very interesting, as was...More

Very nice museum. The staff are friendly. The displays, though not that plenty, are well kept and show why New York is New York. A definite must stop in Albany.
