The Tiberias Hot Springs National Park displays one of the most spectacular mosaics of ancient synagogues in Israel. On the site, where the Hot Springs of Tiberias flow, there is also a beautifully preserved 18th century structure of a Turkish Hamam.

Absolutely beautiful synagogue mosaic but not the equal of Zippori. Little to really see except for the synagogue floor. Explanation of the symbology is excellent and in English. Parking is very difficult. The best parking is across the divided street so access can be a...More

Compared to the other National Parks in Israel this one was a disappointment, difficulty parking and the springs are mostly piped elsewhere...to resorts nearby. There are well preserved mosaics to be seen protected in the building. The brochure translates the Greek and Aramaic Greek to...More

Small but fascinating. Difficult to park but we left the car at Rabbi Meir's tomb (also worth a visit) - it's not far to walk. Incredibly well-preserved mosaic and also pleasant place to relax.

The importance of this site is often overlooked and not understood. The Sanhedrin was based in Tiberias when these synagogues were built, thus the amazing nature of the mosaic floors. The mosaics refute so much of what was believed to apply to what was acceptable...More

It’s a small excavation site just south of Tiberias, which is worthwhile if you, like us, are interested in archeology of the Roman period. It was a half hour well spent. The National Park pass can be used.
