Not a major attraction compared to other places around the Sea of Galilee, but well worth a visit and away from the crowds. This is the place that commemorates the miracle of the Gadarene swine.

It was uncovered as a road was being put in around Lake Kenneret [Sea of Galilee] . Interesting layout, nice place for a short visit, walk up the hill to see more of the ruins.

Made of black basalt with contrasting white limestone architectural elements, this beautiful church is set against the backdrop of the Sea of Galilee. Most of the mosaic floors are preserved although iconoclasts had a field day in antiquity. Make sure to climb up the side...More

This is 1 of 3 towns Jesus cursed - for their lack of faith. The only thing that grows in this town today is the Crown of Thorn trees! Amazing! To be in the synagogue that we know Jesus was in - can't put into...More

*Push the button located right before entering the ruins for an English tutorial of the site. This is the site that the New testament (see both Luke and Matthew) describe the Miracle of the swine occurring. A small park, worth the trip if you are...More

It's a small park, the site of a Byzantine church built on a spot where Jesus performed the miracle of the swine. The church is reconstructed. It has a typical semi-circular nave with a semi-spherical dome and well-preserved floor mosaics. Allow 30 to 40 minutes...More
