11 reviews
Leaving from Jerusalem early in the morning, we’ll drive south, to the foot of Masada. the site of one of the greatest tales and heroism.
The excavated ruins are fascinating to explore, and the remarkable location high above the surrounding desert and Dead Sea, makes this a might impressive experience.
After exploring the magnificent fortress, the next stop is Ein Gedi , a beautiful nature reserve with waterfalls and the last stop is at a 'private beach' on the Dead Sea for a float & enjoy the unique opportunity to float in the waters and immerse yourself in the famous mud.

his is where King David hid from Saul, and where God defeated the enemies by praise and worship led by King Jehoshaphat. Very spectacular mountain views.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon as part of a 3 bus tour group from the U.S. At least I believe this to be our stop. If so, there is a paved, handicap accessible trail almost to a beautiful waterfall. The stream along it is down a very steep ravine. A swimming area is at the base of the waterfall. People were taking advantage of it. But that wasn’t the purpose of our visit. Our large group (more or less) got off the trail to bask in the area near where 1 Samuel 24 tells us David cut a piece of King Saul’s robe off when he was relieving himself in a nearby cave. One of our accompanying pastors retold the familiar scenario to us in this beautiful, inspirational setting.

This was fantastic! Not only was the hike itself impressive, but the mountain goats were plentiful and in close proximity. We’ll never forget this day. The waterfalls, and there are several, were refreshing and beautiful. The wildlife was impressive. And the exercise welcome after all the rich food we’ve been eating! Side note, my mom who just had knee and hip replacement couldn’t do it. It’s a lot of hiking. Only a half hour up and a half hour down, but many stairs. And some through wet, slippery areas. But SO worth it! And you can get an ice cream at the shop when you’re done 😃.

If you are looking to doing a simple but very interesting hike, go to this wonderful oasis on the Dead Sea. The first part, rich of waterfalls is a little crowded with children and families but always unique being in the desert. Suggest you go to the Dodim cave which requires some good legs but keeps away the tourists ! You will find 2 wonderful pools for a great swim !!!
