I went to Samalona Island for snorkling. The water is very clear and beautiful. You can see the colourful fish swimming around. Alot more beautiful than Bali. Very recommended.

A short boat ride from Makassar marina A little bit of paradise. Coral sand. Clear warm water. Colourful tropical fish swim very close. Great grilled fish, rice and vegetables. Plenty of shade from the trees. Lovely lazy day.

I like the color of the water and white sand, but a little bit messy for the island. All the thing here is pricy even toilet. If u wanna have some food an drink, you better bring it first from city before leaving to samalona.

Hi, Asti is correct, you can get the boats nearby Rotterdam Fort and tell the drivers you wanna head to Samalona. I chartered one boat for 350K for return trip. I just visited Samalona, but yes there are a few other islands... More
