One of the biggest stupas in the Singosari region. Although the location is quite far from the highway, but this place is quite easy to find. Here we can see closely the Singhasari royal heritage temple that still exists today. Next to the temple there is a lake that can be used for bathing. Outside the temple fence, several food and beverage vendors line up. #batulocalguides #letsguide

You have to go through a small road from the main road. There is a park and spring water around the candi. Lots of people take bath at the spring. The area is rather cozy and fresh.
Candi Sumbeawan is a Budhist candi with a single stupa. You could feel the energy even when you just close your eyes. If you have time, it is worth to take a short meditation.

It was okay there. Good place for sightseeing but the temple itself not as big as i seen on Google.
There's no information about the stupa.
You have to pay 5000 for the entrance ticket.

The actual stupa itself isn't that interesting, but the area around it is quite special. Has a very serene vibe, which is hard to get for long in Malang. Small donation. Rock walkway makes it hard to walk if you have mobility issues. Parking fee. Not that much of a walk down to the actual site. Glad we went. But again, you have to be into temples ... or else I would say "don't bother".

After quite a long walk through the rice paddies, we came across this charming small temple. Not as interesting as someone the others but the suburb scenery along the way was well worth the visit.

A lovely walk alongside a canal to the site. No information about the stupa available but take the time to wander along the paths. One leads to a crystal-clear spring with a carved turtle on the bottom. Very peaceful.

I was expecting something better. The road was a bit hard. I had the help of few people on the way as my google could not find the place so that was good. Very boring stupa, not that great. I missed the last turn out and ended up in some rice plantation, that was the most beautiful. It does not really worth it I find unless you mss the last turn. Lol

The long walk through rice terraces, irrigation canals, bamboo trees and glorious shrubbery ends at the anticlimactic Candi Sumberawan - it is just a ruined stupa, although it has the advantage (compared to other Malang temples) of being in the middle of a forest rather than a residential area, and thus feels more authentic. And then one goes back through the same rural scenery - which is, I believe, the real highlight of the tour to the Candi Sumberawan.

As any reviews say, it is just a stupa. But the walk in is beautiful (about 1km from the main road) past sawah, forests and along a small stream. Once you get there the temple is not so fasincating- the top is missing and it's basically just a base. But there are baths and a pool to bathe in and it is believed these waters have mystical qualities to preserve youth and improve fertility. The adjacent plot has been bought by a business woman who is hoping to turn the area into a nature reserve/flower garden and a small guest house, though it was not built yet when we were there.
